ESIC SSO Job Profile

Employee's State Insurance (abbreviated as ESI) is a self-financing social security and health insurance scheme for Indian workers. This fund is managed by the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). Employee's State Insurance conducts the SSO recruitment exam every year. ESIC has released the notification for the post of SSO. As per notification, there are 539 vacancies in total.

ESIC SSO Salary:

The salary of selected candidates will draw a starting pay of Rs. 34000/- including advance increments.Gross emolument including ESIC’s Contribution towards National Pension Scheme (NPS), Grade Allowance, Special Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Family Allowance, Local Allowance etc. at the minimum of this scale is approx.. Rs. 44900/- per month.

ESIC SSO Roles and Responsibilities.

A SSO at ESIC can get a exposure depending on the dept they will be allotted but overall whatever the department it is work exposure at ESIC. ESIC SSO will have handle a variety of tasks some of the basic responsibilities are as follows.

  • Keeping Records of the monthly contributions of the Employees and Employers
  • Registration of Employees (coverable) with ESI
  • Creating Awareness among public (Employee and their Families) about the ESI benefits
  • Performing periodic Inspections
  • Assisting the beneficiaries in getting the benefits as per ESI Act.

ESIC SSO Pay scale

As per the 7th Pay commision, the salary for the post of ESIC SSO is revised to the Level- 7 of Pay Matrix (Civilian employees). The Monthly Gross Salary at the Entry stage would be around Rs 44900/- replaced against Pay Band Rs. 9300- 34800/- with Grade Pay Rs. 4600/- of 6th Central Pay Commission.
