The National Testing Agency has been given the responsibility of conducting the UGC NET exam by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The UGC NET is a test that helps determine whether Indian nationals are eligible for the position of "Assistant Professor" or "Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor" in Indian universities and colleges. Notification 2024

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the UGC NET 2024 notification on its official website. The NTA will be conducting the UGC NET 2024 exam for the position of "Assistant Professor'' or "Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor" in Indian universities and colleges. Moreover, the UGC NET exam is held twice a year, in June and December. You can apply for the UGC NET June 2024 cycle between May 10 to May 31, 2023. The UGC NET exam 2024 will be conducted between June 13 to 22, 2023. How to Apply Online

Given below are the step-by-step instructions of how to apply online for the UGC NET (Law) 2024 exam.

  • Visit the official NTA website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/.
  • Click on the Application for UGC NET June 2024 link, which will redirect you to a new window.
  • Next, click on “New Registration”.
  • Proceed to fill up the UGC NET Application Form, and take a note of the system generated Application Number.
  • Upload all your scanned documents like the recent photograph (file size 10Kb – 200Kb) and signature (file size: 4kb - 30kb).
  • Next step is to pay the application fee.
  • Take a printout of the UGC NET application form for future reference.

After submission of the UGC NET (Law) application form, you will be required to pay the UGC NET application fee. Please note that the application process will be considered complete only after the payment of the application fee. Exam Language

Except the language papers, all questions in the UGC NET 2024 can be answered in English as well as Hindi. Eligibility Criteria 2024

To be able to apply for the UGC NET June 2024 exam, candidates are also required to fulfill the UGC NET eligibility criteria 2024 requirements as laid out by the NTA in the UGC NET notification 2024. It is pertinent to note that failure to fulfill the eligibility criteria will result in cancellation of candidature. Therefore, before you proceed with the application process, you must ensure that you fulfill the UGC NET eligibility criteria with respect to the educational qualification and age limit criteria. 

Educational Qualification

You must possess the following educational qualification to be eligible for the UGC NET (Law) 2024 exam.

  • The candidates must have passed the Master’s course in a certain specific subject or stream.
  • Paper two must be of the same origin as the post-graduation subject.
  • The LLM holders are also eligible for the exam.
  • For the Junior Research Fellowship and the Net Assistant professor, candidates must have secured 55% in the Post-graduation.
  • The marks for SC/ST/Obc are 50% of the Qualification.

Age Limit Criteria

Admit Card 2024

The UGC NET June 2024 Admit Card will be released on the official website of NTA, a few days before the exam. You will be required to download the admit card for the website. The UGC NET Call Letter 2024 will carry all the crucial information regarding the exam date, exam shift, exam venue and exam time. On the day of the exam, you will have to bring a printed copy of the UGC NET Admit Card 2024 along with a passport size photograph and photo ID to the examination centre.
