    SEBI or the Securities & Exchange Board of India has not yet announced the recruitment notification for Grade A vacancies in various streams for 2025. These include Legal, General, Information Technology, Research, and Official Language. This is mainly because the current exam cycle has just concluded with the SEBI Grade A Phase 2 exam.     How to Apply Online for the SEBI Legal Examination? 

    To apply for the SEBI Grade A Law Officer Recruitment , simply follow these steps:   

    • Before you process your application, you should check the eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification. Make sure you meet the requirements including educational qualifications, age limit, and any other specified criteria. 
    • Go to the application portal by clicking on the SEBI website and click on ‘Apply Online’ to proceed further. 
    • Fill out the application form that pops up by providing your personal details, qualifications and contact details. Verify the details before submitting the form. 
    • As a part of the application process, you could be asked to upload some documents supporting your application like your educational certificates, identification proof, photograph, signature, and any similar documents. Keep scanned copies ready for uploading. 
    • Click further to make the online payment of the application fees. The payment can usually be made online through various modes such as credit card, debit card or even net banking. Follow the instructions and complete the payment process successfully. 
    • Once you have filled in the required details, uploaded the documents, and made the payment, and then verify everything from the documents you uploaded to your personal details entered. Then, submit the application form. 
    • After successfully submitting the application, take a printout of the completed application form for your reference.

    SEBI Legal Phase 1 Exam Pattern 

    SEBI Grade A Phase 1 for Legal consists of an objective online examination as per the previous year’s notification. The online exam has two papers of 100 marks each. Paper 1 comprises multiple choice questions on subjects like General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Test of Reasoning. Paper 2 consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on the specialized subject. i.e., Legal in this case.

    • Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 carry a negative marking of 1/4th mark for every wrong answer.

    SEBI Legal Phase 2 Exam Pattern 

    SEBI Grade A pattern for Legal Phase 2 also consists of two papers carrying 100 marks each. Paper 1 is Descriptive English. Paper 2 consists of 70 multiple-choice questions and 3 descriptive-type questions based on the specialized stream, i.e., Legal. Like Phase 1, there are negative markings of 1/4th mark for every wrong answer.

    The paper is available in English as well as Hindi, except for the test of Descriptive English. 

    Interview 

    After qualifying for the SEBI Grade A Phase 2 exam, candidates will be called for the third and final stage of the recruitment process which is the Interview. Candidates can choose either Hindi or English as the medium of language for the Interview. The SEBI Legal interview is held for 11.25 marks. 25 % weightage of marks will also be given to post qualification, whereas the rest of the Interview will be given a weightage of 75 %. Overall, the SEBI Officer Grade A Phase 2 exam carries 85%, while marks obtained in the Interview shall be given a weightage of 15%.
