Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI): Brief Overview
The securities market in India has grown significantly over the last decade. During the infamous pandemic of 2020, when the whole world was facing tough times with their economy, it was the Indian Stock Market that stood tall and booming. Such is the power of the SEBI or Securities and Exchanges Board of India, regulating one of the most dynamic securities markets in the world. SEBI (Securities & Exchange Board of India), as a non-statutory body was established in 1988 with the aim of regulating the securities market. It was given statutory powers in 1992 through the SEBI Act, 1992. Hence, it is one of the most important regulatory bodies after the RBI.
Every year, many fresh graduates hope to win dream job opportunities with SEBI because of its appealing job profile and dynamic work nature. To be a SEBI officer, aspirants need to have certain eligibility criteria that make them stand a cut above the rest.
SEBI Grade A Officer
When compared to other regulatory bodies in India, SEBI is a reasonably young organization. Therefore, SEBI as an organization is expanding quickly, which is good news for the aspirants preparing for the SEBI Grade A Exam. Looking at the latest trends, SEBI is sent to recruit eligible candidates regularly as Assistant Managers in Grade A. The SEBI Grade A Officer is a managerial-level position in SEBI. It is a prestigious post responsible for various functions related to securities market regulation and supervision. The SEBI Assistant Managers are involved in formulating policies, implementing regulatory frameworks, enforcing compliance, and protecting the interests of investors. It is for this reason that among the regulatory bodies, the SEBI Grade A exam has become very popular among the candidates after the RBI Grade A and RBI Grade B exams.
