Phase 1 Exam Pattern

The SEBI Research Stream exam pattern for Phase 1 consists of two papers of 100 marks each. Paper 1 of Phase 1 will be common for all and consist of various sections like General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Test of Reasoning. There will be a minimum cut-off of 30% for Paper 1 (no sectional cutoff) and 40% for Paper 2 in Phase 1. The paper will be available in both English and Hindi except for the test of English. You need to secure this cutoff as mentioned above, besides an aggregate cut-off mark of 40% in Phase 1 to be shortlisted for SEBI Grade A Phase 2.

Phase 2 Exam Pattern

Phase 2 of the SEBI Grade A Research Stream consists of two papers carrying 100 marks each. Paper 1 will be of Descriptive English and common for all, while Paper 2 consists of questions in your respective domain i.e., Research Stream. Details on the SEBI Grade A exam pattern are given below.

There is a minimum cut-off of 30% for Paper 1 and 40% for Paper 2 in Phase 2. You need to secure a separate cut-off in each paper besides the aggregate cut-off marks of 50% in Phase 2, which includes a weightage of 1/3rd for Paper 1 and 2/3rd for Paper 2, to get shortlisted for SEBI Grade A Research Interview. The paper will be available in both English and Hindi except for the test of English Language.

Interview

If you clear Phase 2 of the SEBI Grade A Research exam, you will be called for the Interview. This is the last stage of the SEBI Grade A selection process. You have the option to choose either Hindi or English as the medium of language for the Interview. The final merit for the SEBI Research Officer will be based on marks scored in Phase 2 and Phase 3. Phase 2 will hold a weightage of 85% while the Interview has a weightage of 15%.
