The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is India's Central Bank and monetary authority, which controls the money supply. The RBI plays an important part in the Development Strategy of the Government of India. RBI regulates loans offered by banks and non-banking financial institutions to government entities, businesses, and consumers and it also controls the availability of funds in the financial system.

RBI Grade B Examination (DR) is conducted in three phases as follows:
Written-Objective & Descriptive
The RBI Grade B Preliminary Exam is the first phase to become an RBI Grade B Officer. The Preliminary exam consists of subjects like English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability & General Awareness. The below-mentioned table defines the exam pattern for RBI Grade B Pre exam.

Candidates are shortlisted for the "Interview" stage based on the total score secured in Phase-II. The interview will carry 50 marks. Candidates can choose the language for Interview i.e either Hindi or English. To apply for RBI Grade B Exam, you should meet various eligibility criteria wrt Educational Qualification, Age, Nationality, No. of Attempts permissible etc.
Candidates are required to follow the below-mentioned educational criteria to apply for RBI Grade B Exam.
Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - (General)
A minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th Standard examinations.
Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DEPR
A Master's Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute.
Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DSIM
A Master's Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years; OR
Master's Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an institute of repute; OR
M. Stat. The degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years OR
Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years
Candidates are required to be aged between 21 to 30 years to apply for the RBI Grade B Exam. RBI has also defined the criteria for the candidates belonging to the reserved category. You can check the details in the table below:

Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers who have completed their initial period of assignment of five years of Military Service but whose assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues certificates that they would be released on selection within three months from the date of receipt of offer of appointment
Ex-servicemen (including Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers) provided applicants have rendered at least five years continuous Military Service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability or have been released on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service or on invalidment
Ex-employees of banking institutions whose services had to be terminated for reasons of economy or as a result of bank going into liquidation and personnel retrenched from Government Offices after at least one year’s service and currently registered with Employment Exchange

The 'centre, venue address, date and time' for both online Preliminary and online Mains Examinations and Interview shall be intimated in the respective 'Call Letter'. An eligible candidate should download his/her call letter from the authorised website by entering his/ her details i.e. Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth. No hard copy of the call letter/ Information Handout etc. will be sent by post/ courier.
The notification for RBI Grade B Exam is expected to be released within a few months. Last year RBI Grade B Phase I Exam was conducted in the month of August and RBI Grade B Phase II Exam was conducted in the month of September. Similar timelines are expected for this year also. The expected dates for 2019 as per last years' exam dates are given below. These dates will be confirmed when the official notification for RBI Garde B 2019 is released.
