RBI Grade B Exam Notification

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is India's Central Bank and monetary authority, which controls the money supply. The RBI plays an important part in the Development Strategy of the Government of India. RBI regulates loans offered by banks and non-banking financial institutions to government entities, businesses, and consumers and it also controls the availability of funds in the financial system.

RBI Grade B Exam Pattern

RBI Grade B Examination (DR) is conducted in three phases as follows:

Phase 1 Preliminary Exam Written-Objective 200 Marks
Phase 2 Mains Exam Written-Objective & Descriptive 300 Marks
Phase 3 Personal Interview Interview 50 Marks

Phase I: RBI Grade B Preliminary Examination: 

The RBI Grade B Preliminary Exam is the first phase to become an RBI Grade B Officer. The Preliminary exam consists of subjects like English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability & General Awareness. The below-mentioned table defines the exam pattern for RBI Grade B Pre exam.

RBI Grade B 2019 Interview

Candidates are shortlisted for the "Interview" stage based on the total score secured in Phase-II. The interview will carry 50 marks. Candidates can choose the language for Interview i.e either Hindi or English. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests are conducted online. Kindly note, all questions (in both Preliminary and Main Examination, except the Test of English), are available bilingually in English and Hindi.

Marking Scheme for RBI Grade B Exam

The marking scheme for RBI Grade B 2019 and penalty for wrong answers (Applicable to Both Preliminary and Main Examinations) is as follows:

Age Criteria (Maximum age)

Candidates are required to be aged between 21 to 30 years to apply for the RBI Grade B Exam. RBI has also defined the criteria for the candidates belonging to the reservedcategory. You can check the details in the table below:

RBI Grade B Examination 2019: How to Apply

RBI has released the notification containing the vacancy details for its Grade B Officer category. The following is the method of application

  • Visit  https://opportunities.rbi.org.in  and here once the registration is open, you will be redirected to RBI’s application portal.
  • Register yourself for the first time on the portal.
  • Then provide basic information about yourself such as Name, Age, Contact Particulars such as Phone, Address and Email ID.
  • A photograph & your signature should be uploaded, as per specifications provided therein.
  • Provide your educational qualification information and then save & preview your application form for any errors.
  • Payment of the fees (which is Rs. 850 or Rs. 100 depending on your category) can be made through Credit / Debit Card or Netbanking.
  • Once the form is submitted, you will receive an email with your login credentials.

Guidelines for uploading the picture and signature are as follows.

RBI Grade B 2019 Admit Card

The 'centre, venue address, date and time' for both online Preliminary and online Mains Examinations and Interview shall be intimated in the respective 'Call Letter'. An eligible candidate should download his/her call letter from the authorised website by entering his/ her details i.e. Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth. No hard copy of the call letter/ Information Handout etc. will be sent by post/ courier.
