FCI Exam Highlights

Food Corporation of India or FCI is one of the largest public sector enterprises in the field of food grain and supply chain management. It is majorly responsible for the food security of the country. It manages various depots and private equity godowns all across the country. Now FCI has invited online applications for the posts of Junior Engineer (JE) (Civil Engineering / Electrical Mechanical Engineering), Assistant Grade-II (AG II) (Hindi), Steno Grade-ii, Typist (Hindi) and Assistant Grade-III (AG III) (General / Accounts / Technical / Depot). The FCI Preliminary examination is scheduled to be held in May & June whereas the Main Examination will be held on 27th July 2019.

FCI 2019 Notification

FCI released its recruitment notification has invited online applications for the post of Junior Engineer (JE) (Civil Engineering / Electrical Mechanical Engineering), Assistant Grade-II (AG II) (Hindi), Steno Grade-II, Typist (Hindi) and Assistant Grade-III (AG III) (General / Accounts / Technical / Depot) for all of its offices across India. FCI has announced total 4103 vacancies for all the posts in different zones. Candidates can apply for only one zone. FCI jobs hold a lot of importance as it is a golden chance to enter the government sector. All interested candidates can apply for the posts according to the various posts and their eligibility. The notification mentions complete eligibility criteria based on different parameters. 

 

FCI Exam Pattern

FCI released the exam notification for various posts and all the eligible candidates will apply for the same. FCI is an important organization in the public sector and therefore its recruitment is awaited by many job aspirants who are willing to work in the government sector. While you apply for the posts according to your eligibility, it is also necessary that you gather some important information about the FCI exam. The FCI Exam is held in two phases:

  • Phase I
  • Phase II

Phase I is common for all the posts and Phase II will consist of different papers according to the posts.

FCI Exam Language

All the tests in FCI 2019 Examination are provided in both English and Hindi language except the test of English. 

 

FCI Marking scheme

All the questions in FCI 2019 Exam will carry 1 mark each and there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks which implies that for every incorrect answer 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. An unattempted question will not lead to any deduction of marks. 

 

FCI Exam Syllabus

FCI Recruitment 2019 has come out after a long time and therefore it holds a lot of importance and most of the aspirants who must have been in wait will apply for the same. To ensure success in the exam, you should have complete knowledge of the syllabus and have it noted with you so that you can prepare well.

 

FCI Eligibility Criteria

FCI Recruitment Notification has been released and it mentions the eligibility criteria with respect to the required parameters which make a candidate eligible to apply for the FCI 2019 exam. A candidate needs to follow the mentioned criteria if he/she wishes to appear in the exam. If you are found ineligible on even one parameter, your application will be rejected.

FCI Exam 2019 Educational Qualification

Before you apply for FCI 2019 examination, you need to first ensure that you possess the required educational qualification. The qualification will be reckoned as on 01.01.2019. The required educational qualification will vary on the basis of the type of posts that have been applied for. Apart from the basic educational qualification, a candidate may also be expected to possess some experience for some of the posts.

J.E. (Civil Engineering) Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering + 1 year experience.
J.E. (Electrical Mechanical) Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering + 1 year experience in the case of Diploma holders only.
Steno. Grade- II Graduate along with O' level qualification of DOEACC and speed of 40 w.p.m. and 80 w.p.m. in typing and shorthand respectively or Degree in Computer Science/ Computer Application with speed of 40 w.p.m. and 80 w.p.m. in typing and shorthand respectively.
AG-II (Hindi) Essential: 1. Degree of a recognized University with Hindi as the main subject. 2. Proficiency in English. 3. 1 year experience of translation from English to Hindi and vice-versa. Desirable:- Post Graduate qualification in Hindi.
Typist (Hindi) (1) Graduation or equivalent. (2) 30 W.P.M speed in Hindi Typing. (3) Preference will be given to the candidates knowing bilingual typing (English and Hindi) and Computer knowledge.
AG-III (General) Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognised University with proficiency in use of computers.
AG-III (Accounts) Bachelor of Commerce from a recognized University with proficiency in use of computers.
AG-III (Technical) B.Sc. in Agriculture from a recognized University. Or B.Sc. with any of the following subject from a recognized University: Botany / Zoology / Bio-Technology/Bio-Chemistry/ Microbiology / Food Science. Or B. Tech / BE in Food Science/Food Science and Technology/Agricultural Engineering / Bio-Techno- logy from a recognized University / an institution approved by AICTE. 2. Proficiency in use of computers.
AG-III (Depot) Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with proficiency in use of computers.

Age Crietria

Apart from the educational criteria which a candidate needs to follow in order to fill up the application form for FCI 2019 Recruitment, it is also necessary for a candidate to follow a certain age criteria where FCI mentions the minimum and maximum age limit for a candidate to be eligible for the FCI 2019 Exam. There will not be any upper age limit for an FCI employee

Age Relaxation

FCI also provides a relaxation with respect to age for certain categories of candidates like SC,ST, OBC and others. The relaxation and reservation mentioned in the notification will not be applicable to OBC candidates who fall within the creamy layer. FCI  announced a good number of vacancies for various posts in its recruitment for the year 2019. The examination is tentatively scheduled in the month of April/May. FCI Salary

One of the main reasons behind choosing a job is the pay scale. It forms the foundation of the career ahead. Assistant Grade III post is also one of the posts which receives a good pay scale to form a good base for yourself.

  • The net salary for an Assistant Grade III ranges between: Rs 17958 - Rs 19818.
  • The basic pay of an AG- III is Rs 9300.
  • We can say that an AG-III receives a total salary of around 20K including all other allowances.

FCI How to Apply

To appear in the FCI 2019 Recruitment Examination, you need to start the application process after ensuring your eligibility. A candidate can apply for only one post in any one zone. To apply successfully, you need to follow some simple steps which are listed below:

  • Visit the official website of FCI: http://fci.gov.in/: and click on the ‘Current Recruitment’ section.
  • Once you enter the required section, you will be required to select your zone after which you will be directed to a new page consisting of ‘Apply Online’ section.
  • You will be directed to the online registration page where you will have to click on the ‘Click here for new registration’ tab on the top right corner.
  • Start filling all the personal details asked. You should ensure that you have a valid email id and mobile number for further communication.
  • After all the details will be entered, you will have to validate them and move ahead by clicking on the ‘Save and Next Button’.
  • After submitting, a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system which you should save for further activity. You will also receive a mail regarding the same.
  • After the registration, you will be required to upload your passport photo, signature, left thumb impression and hand-written declaration
  • After the completion of this process, you will have to submit your choice of examination centre from the list of your preferred zone.
  • As the whole process gets completed you should preview the application form and finally submit it by clicking on ‘Final Submit’ tab.
  • After the application process is complete, you are required to make the online payment of the application fee. You will have to choose any one of the online payment methods (Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets/UPI).

FCI Admit card

As soon as the application process for FCI Exam 2019 will be finished, the admit cards for the same will be released a few days before the exam. Candidates will have to download their admit cards from FCI’s official website which will further contain all details related to the exam venue, date and time. Candidates will have to produce this admit card along with a valid identity proof.
