IBPS PO 2019 Preliminary Exam Pattern
IBPS PO 2019 Prelims ( Preliminary) is the first phase of the IBPS PO recruitment process. Only recently IBPS has introduced a new pattern of sectional timings in the ‘Prelims’ as well as ‘Mains’ exam. There will be three sections / tests which except the test of English Language will be bilingual. All the questions will be ‘objective type’. The candidates will have to secure sectional cut-off in each test along with the overall cut-off. The details of the Prelims phase are as follows:

After the first phase of IBPS PO Prelims is over and the candidates have been shortlisted according to the announced cut-off, they are expected to clear the phase II further. The IBPS PO Phase II is the Mains exam which consists of four objective type tests along with one English descriptive test which will be evaluated only if you secure the expected cut-off in the other four objective tests and this cumulative score ( Objective tests marks + Descriptive marks) will further go on to decide your selection for the third Interview stage.

The IBPS PO (Prelims + Mains) Exam gives the candidates a chance to choose their medium of exam between English and Hindi language, except in the test of English Language. All the other tests can be given in the candidates’ desired language. Also, IBPS exam interface gives you an option to view any particular question in a different medium apart from the one that has been selected in the starting. This option will also be available for all the tests as mentioned above, except the test of English Language.
IBPS follows a certain criteria when it comes to the marks allotted and the marks deducted when a candidate appears for the IBPS PO Exam. This particular marking scheme can also be considered as a part of the difficulty level of the exam. Every incorrect answer would cost 1/4th of the original marks allotted to the particular question. There will not be any deduction for an unattempted answer.

IBPS PO Mains Examination Syllabus
Although the IBPS PO 2019 exam is divided into two phases, we should not expect a complete change in the syllabus for both the Prelims & Mains exam, as far as the three sections are concerned ( English Language, Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning). IBPS follows a specific eligibility criteria which all the applicants need to follow if they do not want to be rejected further in the process. You will not be allowed to fill in the application if you do not conform to the criteria mentioned in the official notification.
IBPS PO Educational Criteria
The most important part of the ‘eligibility criteria’ is confirming the eligibility of a candidate, that if he/she is eligible enough to appear for the examination or not. IBPS specifies a fixed educational criteria that needs to be strictly followed by the candidate if he/she wants to be selected as a PO (Probationary Officer). It specifies what educational qualification is required in order to be eligible to appear for the IBPS PO Examination.
A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online..
IBPS PO Age criteria
A candidate must not have exceeded the age of 30 years as on August 31, 2019 i.e., candidate must have been born on or after September 01, 1989.
Age Relaxation for IBPS PO:
IBPS gives relaxation with respect to age, to the candidates of certain categories, to facilitate them in the recruitment process. Refer to the table given below to get the required details regarding the age relaxation:

Once the official notification gets released, you will be required to start your application process and start filling the application form. The application process has been simplified in few steps:
1. Go to the official website of IBPS and click on the "CLICK HERE FOR REGISTRATION" tab provided on the top right corner of the page.
2. You will be redirected to the first page of the application form where you will be required to fill in all the basic details and click on Save & Next button to move forward.
3. You will now be redirected to the second page of the form where you will be asked to upload your scanned passport size photograph and signature based on the specification mentioned therein and click on the next button.
4. After you move on to the next page, you will have to fill in your personal details including your educational qualifications.
5. The next step would be filling the exam centres preference list. You will be required to fill in 4 centres. Click on 'Save & Next'.
6. After you are finished with entering the details, the preview of your form will be shown, so that if you find any error, you may edit and correct it. Once the application is submitted, you will not be able to edit it.
7. At the end, you will have to choose a preferable online payment method to submit the application fee for IBPS PO. You can pay the fees through credit card / debit card / net banking etc.
8. Click on the 'Submit' button to complete the application.
Once you are done with the complete application process of the IBPS PO 2019 Exam, you will be asked to submit the required application fee for the exam. If you fail to submit the fee, your application will be incomplete and you will not be able to appear in the exam. The fee details are given below:
IBPS will allot various centres for the IBPS PO 2019 online examination. The candidates are allotted the exam centres according to the various shifts of the examination. Usually the Prelims Exam is held across two weeks on ‘Saturdays’ & ‘Sundays’ in more than one shifts throughout the day, whereas the Mains exam is held in a single week, usually on one day, as the number of shortlisted candidates are lesser than those appearing in Prelims.
After the application process for the IBPS PO 2019 ends, after few days the candidates will be intimated regarding the release of the admit cards for the same, indicating the date, time and venue of the examination. The procedure will be same for both Prelims & Mains. The candidate will have to bring a print of the admit card along with a xerox copy of an identity proof, failing to which the he / she will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
IBPS is soon expected to release the official notification containing the officially approved exam dates.
