The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has opened online applications for Officer Grade A (Assistant Manager) for 30 vacancies. However, there are no vacancies for the IT stream this year. The recruitment opens from September 03, 2026 to September 24, 2026.. You may apply to up to two streams—each requires its own application and fee.
For the Information Technology stream, there were 2 vacancies (1 for OBC, 1 for UR) with no separate horizontal PwBD slots in the recently concluded exam cycle.

PFRDA Information Technology Exam Calendar 2026
The PFRDA IT notification has been released in September 2026. The notification carries the details of the online application window and its deadline. The notification also carries details of the exam schedule. The Phase I (Online Screening Examination) for PFRDA Grade A will be held first, and it will be a qualifier of sorts.
Phase II (Online Main Examination) will be held after, and those who clear Phase I will qualify for the same. Phase III (Personal Interview) will be held after Phase II result is declared and only candidates who clear both Phase I and Phase II will be eligible for the same..

PFRDA Grade A Information Technology Eligibility Criteria 2026
The PFRDA Grade A eligibility criteria for the IT stream differ from other streams that you may apply for. To be eligible for the PFRDA Information Technology stream in 2026, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:
Nationality and Age
You must be a citizen of India. Your age should be between 21 and 30 years. Age relaxations apply: +5 years for SC/ST; +3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer); +10 years for PwBD-UR, +13 years for PwBD-OBC, +15 years for PwBD-SC/ST; and +5 years for Ex-servicemen.
Educational Qualifications
You need one of the following qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics & Communication/Information Technology/Computer Science);
- Master’s in Computer Applications;
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline plus a postgraduate qualification (minimum two-year duration) in Computers or Information Technology;
- Or, for AI/ML focus, a Bachelor’s in Engineering or B.Sc. with specialization in AI and ML, or an MCA/PG diploma in Computers/IT with AI and ML specialization.
Final-year students awaiting results may apply provisionally but must produce proof of passing before joining.
Computer Literacy
You should be proficient in MS Office (Word and Excel) to handle the role’s digital requirements.
Other Conditions
If you are employed in a Government or PSU organization, you must submit a No Objection Certificate at the interview stage. All selections are provisional, pending document and certificate verification; any misrepresentation or failure to produce valid proof when required will lead to cancellation of your candidature

PFRDA Grade A Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2026 for IT Stream
The PFRDA Grade A exam for IT Stream will take place in three phases.

PFRDA Grade A Phase 1 and Phase 2, except the Test of English section, will be bilingual i.e in Hindi and English. There will be a negative marking of 1/4th mark assigned to the question for every wrong answer you attempt.

Phase 1 is qualifying in nature and you need to secure separate cut-offs in each paper as well as aggregate cut-off marks in Phase 1 to be shortlisted for Phase 2.
PFRDA Grade A Phase 2 Exam Pattern
PFRDA IT exam pattern for Phase 2 is a combination of multiple-choice and descriptive tests. The exam pattern of PFRDA IT stream Phase 2 consists of two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2.

A separate call letter will be issued for Phase 2. If you have applied in multiple streams, PFRDA Grade A exam 2026 Paper 2 will be conducted in various shifts whose timing will be intimated in the admit card. Phase 3- Personal Interview
Based on your performance in the Phase 2 exam, you will be called for PFRDA Grade A Interview. You can opt to reply in Hindi or English as per your convenience in the Interview.
The final merit for PFRDA Grade A IT recruitment 2026 will be decided on the marks obtained by you in Phase 2 and Interview. PFRDA Assistant Manager Phase 2 has a weightage of 85% marks and the interview has a weightage of 15% marks.

PFRDA Grade A Salary 2026
The PFRDA Grade A (Assistant Manager) position carries a pay scale of₹62,500-3600(4)-76,900-4050(7)-1,05,250-EB-4050(4)-1,21,450-4650(1)-1,26,100, spanning 17 years of service. Selected candidates serve a one-year probation period before confirmation in PFRDA service.
At the minimum of this scale, the gross monthly emolument—which includes PFRDA’s contribution to the National Pension System (NPS), Grade Allowance, Special Allowance, Special Grade Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Local Allowance, Family Allowance, Special Compensatory Allowance, Learning Allowance and Housing Allowance—is approximately ₹2,05,000 per month.
