PFRDA Finance and Accounts Exam Pattern 2026

The PFRDA Grade A selection process for the Finance and Accounts stream is conducted in three stages: Phase 1, Phase 2, and Interview. Candidates need to qualify each stage separately to move ahead in the recruitment process.

Phase 1 - Online Screening Exam

Phase I is a single-day online examination featuring two objective papers: one on general aptitude including English, quantitative aptitude, reasoning, and financial awareness, and another on stream-specific Finance & Accounts topics.

Both papers carry negative marking for incorrect answers, and candidates must meet sectional as well as overall cut-offs to advance.

The PFRDA Finance and Accounts Phase 1 is divided into Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is common for all streams and evaluates candidates on essential aptitude areas, while Paper 2 focuses specifically on Finance and Accounts subjects.

Phase 1 is qualifying in nature, and the marks obtained are not considered for the final merit list. However, candidates must clear the minimum qualifying marks to proceed further.

Incorrect answers attract a penalty of 1/4th of the marks assigned to the question. Detailed information regarding the PFRDA Finance and Accounts Phase 1 pattern is provided below.

The descriptive English paper evaluates candidates on essay writing, comprehension, and communication skills. The Finance and Accounts Paper 2 tests subject-specific professional knowledge.

Candidates must secure separate sectional cut-offs along with the overall cut-off to qualify for the Interview stage.
