What are the SBI Clerk Notification 2026 Details?

SBI, one of the largest banks in the Indian banking sector, attracts lakhs of aspirants every year through its recruitment drives. The application fee is ₹750 for General, OBC and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, PwBD, XS and DXS candidates are exempt from paying the fee. The selection process consists of the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and a Local Language Proficiency Test, wherever applicable. The Preliminary Examination is tentatively scheduled for September 2026, while the Main Examination is expected in November 2026.

Call letters for the Preliminary and Main examinations will be available online approximately 10 days before the respective examination. No hard copy of the call letter or the “Acquaint Yourself” booklet will be sent by post. Candidates must carry the required call letters, photographs and valid photo ID proof to the examination centre.

SBI will conduct online Pre-Examination Training for eligible SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and PwBD candidates. Candidates who wish to avail themselves of this facility must select the relevant option while filling out the application form. Training details will be communicated through the registered email ID and SMS.

The starting basic pay is ₹26,730 per month, while the initial monthly emoluments in metropolitan cities such as Mumbai are approximately ₹46,000, including applicable allowances and two additional increments for graduates.

Selected candidates will undergo a minimum probation period of six months and will be required to complete the prescribed e-lessons during probation.

Their performance will be evaluated before confirmation, and the probation period may be extended if the required e-lessons are not completed or performance does not meet the Bank's expectations.

SBI will maintain a wait list of up to 50% of the vacancies on a State-category-wise basis. Candidates from the wait list may be released quarterly against non-joining and resignation from the current batch, subject to meeting the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the Bank. The wait list will remain valid for one year from the date of declaration of the final result.
