Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) Notification

Common Management Admission Test is a national level entrance exam to postgraduate management programmes approved by AICTE. The CMAT 2022 exam was recently conducted. Furthermore, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the official notification for the Common Management Admission Test 2023 (CMAT) in the upcoming months. National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct computer based Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) all over India.

CMAT Exam Pattern

Every year the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts recruitment for the CMAT exam. The total duration of the computer-based online exam is 180 minutes. However, in 2022 the CMAT exam pattern was revised. Now, as per the new CMAT exam pattern there are five different sections and each section has 20 questions with 100 marks. Each correct answer is of 4 marks and each incorrect answer will have a negative marking of 1 mark. The medium of the exam is English only.

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) Exam Syllabus

Before starting CMAT it is important that aspirants are well versed with topics and the detailed syllabus for the exam. CMAT will have objective questions from Quantitative Techniques, Logical Reasoning, English, General Awareness and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Since the selected candidate will have a chance to hone their management skill in one of the best management institutes, the level of exam can be expected to be high.   • Fundamental Arithmetical Operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square Roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and Distance, Time and work
  • Algebra: Basic Algebraic Identities of School Algebra and Elementary Surds (Simple Problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations
  • Geometry: Familiarity with Elementary Geometric Figures and Facts: Triangle and its various kinds of Centres, Congruence and Similarity of Triangles, Circle and its Chords, Tangents, Angles Subtended by Chords of a Circle, Common Tangents to two or more Circles
  • Mensuration: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with Triangular or Square Base
  • Trigonometry: Trigonometry, Trigonometric Ratios, Complementary Angles, Height and Distances (Simple Problems Only) Standard Identities
  • Statistical Charts: Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-Diagram, Pie-Chart

CMAT Eligibility Criteria

To apply for CMAT an aspirant should meet various eligibility criteria like Education Qualification, Age Nationality, Number of attempts permissible etc. As per the CMAT 2022 notification, there is no age restriction for appearing in the CMAT exam. For admission to a participating institute, please see the reservations applicable in that particular institute.

CMAT The candidate must hold a Bachelor‟s Degree in any discipline. Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor‟s Degree, whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for academic year 2022-23, can also apply for CMAT-2022
