The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, known as IBPS, is the body that conducts exams for jobs in banks. Every year, IBPS organizes the Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks. This process helps to select young graduates who wish to begin their career in banking.
The Office Assistant exam, also called the clerk exam, is one of the most important exams held by IBPS. It allows students to get a stable job in Regional Rural Banks and build a career in the banking sector. The exam is conducted online and has two stages, the Preliminary exam and the Main exam.

IBPS RRB Office Assistant Notification 2025
The IBPS RRB Office Assistant Notification 2025 has been released for 7,972 vacancies. The online registration will remain open from 1 September 2025 to 21 September 2025. Candidates must complete the application form within this period to be considered for the exam.
The registration fee depends on the category of the candidate. For SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen, the fee is ₹175. For all other candidates, the fee is ₹850. The payment has to be made online during the application process.
The admit card for the IBPS RRB Office Assistant exam will be available on the official website a few days before the exam. Candidates must download the admit card, as it is required to enter the exam hall. Without it, no one will be allowed to take the exam.

IBPS RRB Office Assistant Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2025
The IBPS RRB Office Assistant exam 2025 will be held in two stages, Preliminary and Main, followed by document verification and a language test. There is no interview in the selection process for this post. The final result will be based on marks in the Main exam only.
The Preliminary exam will test Reasoning and Numerical Ability. Each section will have 40 questions and the total marks will be 80. The time limit for the Preliminary exam is 45 minutes.
The Main exam will cover Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, English or Hindi Language, and Numerical Ability. The total number of questions will be 200, carrying 200 marks, and the time limit will be 2 hours. Candidates can choose English or Hindi language for the language section.
The exam will be available in English, Hindi, and also in local languages depending on the state. Knowing the local language is important because candidates may need to pass a language test during the selection process.

IBPS RRB Office Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2025
The eligibility criteria for the IBPS RRB Office Assistant exam 2025 must be met by every applicant. Failing to do so will lead to disqualification. Candidates are advised to read the notification carefully before applying.
To apply, candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. There is no restriction on the subject of study, so all graduates are eligible.
The age limit for the exam is 18 to 28 years. Candidates must not have been born before 2 September 1997 or after 1 September 2007. Relaxations in the upper age limit are given to reserved categories as per government rules.
Proficiency in the local language of the state is an essential requirement. Candidates who have studied the local language at class 8 level or above, or who hold a valid certificate proving knowledge of the language, will be considered proficient. If a candidate does not meet this requirement at the time of selection, six months will be given after joining to gain proficiency. This period may be extended but not beyond the probation period.
