  • During registration, candidates will have the opportunity to select three preferred districts within the applied state. The bank retains the authority to allocate training seats in any district of the selected state based on administrative necessities.

How to Apply for the SBI Apprentice Exam 2024

Before applying for the SBI Apprentice 2024 exam, make sure that you are eligible for the exam. You are advised to keep all the relevant documents while filling out the online application, for example, your Adhaar card (valid ID), graduation certificate, mark sheet, etc. While filling out the SBI Apprentice online form, you are also required to keep a scanned photograph and signature with yourself. Given below is the step-by-step process of filling out the SBI Apprentice online form.

  • Visit the official website of SBI and click on the “Apply Online” link.
  • After that, you will be redirected to the IBPS website, where you have to click on the “New Registration” link.
  • You are required to fill in all the information related to you, like Name, Date of birth, Mobile number, email ID, etc.
  • A provisional registration ID and password will be sent via email ID and Mobile Number (Registered).
  • Now, you need to log in again with the registration number and password, fill in all the required details, and then click on the “Save and Next” option.
  • After completing the SBI Apprentice Online form, you are advised to preview the application form because no change will be entertained after the final submission.
  • In the end, you will have to pay the application fee through a preferable online payment method.
  • Click on the 'Submit' button to complete the application form.
  • You can also print or save your application form for future use.
  • Guidelines to Upload Scanned Photograph, Signature, Lefty thumb Impression and Handwritten Declaration.
    • Photograph: The size of a scanned photograph should be between 20 to 50kb, and the dimensions should be 200* 230 pixels.
    • Signature: The size of a scanned signature should be between 10 to 20 kb, and the dimensions must be 140*60 pixels.
    • Left Thumb Impression: The size of a scanned left thumb impression should be between 20 to 50 kb, and the dimensions must be 240*240 pixels.
    • Handwritten Declaration: The size of a scanned handwritten declaration should be between 50 kb to 100 kb, and the dimensions must be 800*400 pixels.

Intimations regarding the call letter will also be sent through email to the registered email ID and via SMS to the provided mobile number. Please Note-

  • There will be a negative marking of 1/4th marks for incorrect answers in the Objective tests.
  • Candidates need to achieve a minimum percentage aggregate mark (with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates). The Bank will determine the minimum qualifying marks on aggregate, setting the benchmark for candidates to meet during the assessment process.
  • There will be no sectional cut-off. 

Test of Local Language

Candidates applying for training seats in a specific state must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in one of the designated local languages of that State. The test assessing knowledge of the specified opted local language is a crucial part of the selection process, scheduled after successfully clearing the online written examination.

Failing to qualify in this language test disqualifies candidates from the Apprentice engagement. However, those presenting a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate demonstrating proficiency in the specified local language are exempt from this language test. 

It is essential for candidates to attend the language test at a designated centre in the applied state, covering their own expenses, as the Bank does not provide reimbursement for any incurred travel expenses.

Final Selection

The final selection of candidates will be subject to-

  • Confirming eligibility for the post and verifying the information provided in the online application.
  • Successfully passing the test assessing proficiency in the specified opted local language, where applicable, as outlined above.
  • Meeting the qualification criteria in the medical examination

SBI Apprentice Wait List 

A waitlist, categorized by state, will be upheld for a duration of one year from the date of the apprentices' engagement result or until the next engagement exercise, whichever occurs first. Candidates will be released from this waitlist only once, in case of non-joining, contingent upon the availability of qualified candidates.

Exam Language

With the exception of the General English test, questions for the Written examination will be formulated in 13 regional languages. SBI Apprentice Salary 2024

Selected candidates must undergo a one-year training period and are entitled to a stipend of Rs.15,000 per month for the entire engagement duration. However, Apprentices are not eligible for any additional allowances or benefits during this period.

Apprentices in the recruitment process for Junior Associates will receive consideration and relaxation in accordance with the bank's recruitment policy, subject to periodic amendments. Weightage and relaxation in the recruitment of Junior Associates are contingent upon the apprentices successfully completing their apprenticeship training within the bank. This is subject to the satisfactory conduct and performance of the candidate throughout the entire training duration. Successful completion of the apprenticeship training involves passing the skill evaluation test (Trade test) and obtaining the joint National Apprenticeship Certificate issued jointly by SBI-NSDC/BFSI-SBI.
