    IB Security Assistant/Executive 2025 Highlights 

    The Intelligence Bureau (IB) is India’s premier internal intelligence agency, tasked with counter‑intelligence and counter‑terrorism under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Originally established as the Central Intelligence Bureau in 1947, the IB has since been at the forefront of safeguarding national security.

    For 2025, the IB has announced the recruitment of 4,987 Security Assistant/Executive (SA/Exe) posts across India. Candidates will be selected through a three‑stage process—Tier I (objective test), Tier II (descriptive test) and Tier III (interview/personality test).

    The online application window for IB Security Assistant Recruitment 2025 will be open from 26th July to 17th August 2025 (11:59 pm) at www.mha.gov.in or www.ncs.gov.in. Applicants must register, complete their personal and educational details, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee before the deadline.

    IB Security Assistant Syllabus 2025

    Before starting the IB recruitment 2025 exam preparation, it is very important that you are well-versed with the syllabus. The IB Security Assistant syllabus includes subjects like General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Numerical/Logical/Analytical Ability and Reasoning, English Language and General Studies.

    Tier I – Objective Test

    A one‑hour exam worth 100 marks, split into five equal sections: General Awareness; Quantitative Aptitude; Numerical/Analytical/Logical Ability & Reasoning; English Language & Comprehension; and General Studies. Each section has 20 questions (1 mark each), with a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect response. 

    Tier II – Descriptive Test

    This 50‑mark, 60‑minute paper tests translation skills. You must translate a 500‑word passage from the specified local language/dialect into English and then back into the local language. 

    Tier III – Interview/Personality Test

    In this final 50‑mark stage, candidates face an interview designed to assess their personality traits, communication abilities, and overall fit for intelligence work.

    IB Security Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2025

    Applicants must have passed Class 10 (or equivalent) from a recognised board, hold a valid domicile certificate for the state/UT they’re applying to, and be able to work in the local language or dialect specified by the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau.

    They must be 18–27 years old as of 17 August 2025 (with up to 5 years’ relaxation for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC‑NCL, and up to 10 years for PwBD candidates). While not required, prior field experience in intelligence or security work is considered an advantage.

    IB Security Assistant Exam Calendar 2025

    The IB put out its first notice for Security Assistant/Executive posts on 22 July 2025. The full, detailed PDF will be available by 25 July 2025 on the MHA and NCS websites.

    You can apply online from 26 July 2025 (midnight) until 17 August 2025 (11:59 pm). During this time, you need to register, fill in your details, upload your documents, and pay the fee. In case the fee payment is delayed, you can also pay an SBI challan by 19 August 2025 during banking hours. 

    The exact dates for the Tier I and Tier II exams—and when you can download their admit cards—will be announced after the application period ends. Keep an eye on the MHA and NCS sites a few days before those exams.

    IB Security Assistant Salary 2025

    As an IB Security Assistant/Executive, your basic pay is ₹21,700 to ₹69,100 per month. You also get extra government allowances every month.

    On top of that, you receive a special security allowance equal to 20% of your basic pay. If you work on a holiday, you can claim holiday pay for up to 30 days in a year.

    The salary of an IB Security Assistant is Rs. 21700-69100 in the Level 3 pay matrix.
    For IB Security Assistant, you need to cover overall 5 sections namely - English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, General Studies and Reasoning Ability.
    To be eligible to apply for the IB Security Assistant exam, you must not exceed the age of 27 years as on August 17, 2025. 
    Tier 1 of the IB Security Assistant Exam will be in online mode, while Tier 2 will be conducted in offline mode.
