The Reserve Bank of India Services Board has not yet issued any recruitment for RBI Legal Exam for 2026. Educational Criteria
According to the RBI Grade B Notification, if you are interested to apply for RBI Legal Officer under Non-CSG Grade B post you need to possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Law with a minimum of 50% marks. Age Criteria
Besides adhering to the RBI Grade B Legal educational criteria, it is essential that all the applicants fall within the range of the RBI Grade B Legal age limit criteria as will be mentioned in the RBI Non-CSG official notification 2026. Age Relaxation

Note: Candidates who have an LLM degree will be eligible for a relaxation of 3 years and those possessing a PhD in Law will get a relaxation of 5 years.

Exam Pattern
The selection process for the RBI Legal Officer in Grade B is simple and consists of two main stages. Written examination & Interview. The RBI Legal Officer exam pattern 2026 should be duly followed by the candidates while preparing. Written Exam
The Written Examination for RBI Legal Officer consists of two papers: Paper 1 & Paper 2. The total marks allotted to both the papers will be 250.
Paper 1 consists of both objective type & descriptive type questions based on the ‘General Knowledge of Law’ for 150 marks.

- The 3 hours test will be bilingual which means that candidates will have the freedom to choose their medium of exam between Hindi & English.
- No negative marking has been mentioned for the RBI Legal Officer exam.
Paper 2 consists of a single English Descriptive test which is meant to test the candidates’ efficiency in English Language.
- It will carry 100 marks and 3 hours will be allotted for this test too.
Interview
Once the candidates have cleared the RBI Legal Officer Online Exam, they need to pass the next stage of the selection process, i.e. Interview. The interview will carry 40 marks.
The candidates will have the choice to answer the questions in either Hindi or English.
The final selection will be based on the total scores obtained in the examination (Paper 1 & 2) and Interview.

Salary

- At present, the initial monthly gross emoluments of an RBI Manager in Grade B is Rs 1,16,684 approximately, excluding HRA. You will be governed under the New Pension Scheme (NPS), in addition to the benefits of Gratuity.
- Candidates are also entitled to receive various allowances such as the Dearness Allowance, Local Compensatory Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Special Allowance, Special Grade Allowance, Learning Allowance and Grade Allowance as per rules in force from time to time.
