The APEDA Assistant Manager and Assistant Manager (Agriclture) exams are a single 2½-hour paper worth 100 marks. Eighty marks come from multiple-choice questions—20 on general awareness (current affairs, English and reasoning), 30 on APEDA and agri-export topics, and 30 on degree-level subjects—with a 25% penalty for each wrong answer.
The remaining 20 marks are for two descriptive tasks (one essay and one précis). You may write in English or Hindi, and must score at least 60% (50% for SC/ST) to qualify for the next stage.
For the APEDA AGM (Finance) exam, the paper consists of 50 objective questions for 50 marks and 3 descriptive questions for 50 marks. The exam lasts for 3 hours.

APEDA Salary 2026

APEDA AM/AGM Eligibility Criteria 2026
Prior to applying for the APEDA exam, it's imperative to verify your eligibility against the criteria outlined in the APEDA notification 2026 . Candidates for the APEDA Assistant Manager and Assistant Manager (Agriculture) post must hold a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, plantation, agricultural engineering, veterinary science, dairy technology, food processing/technology, or related disciplines from a recognised university and be no older than 30 years as on the closing date.
For the APEDA Assistant General Manager post, candidates must have the required qualifications as per the stream along with relevant work experience. For the AGM post, eligibility criteria can be adjusted and relaxed in case of highly qualified individuals.
Age relaxations apply to SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwBD (10 years), ex-servicemen (3 years after service deduction), defence personnel disabled in operations (3 years), and APEDA employees with over three years’ service (5 years). No prior work experience is required for the APEDA AM post and the Competent Authority may further relax criteria in exceptional cases.
