What is the Union Budget? As per Article 112 of the Indian Constitution, the Union Budget is defined as a statement of the estimated receipts and expenditure of the government for that particular year. It is also referred to as the Annual Financial Statement as it details the account of the government finances for the financial year that starts from 1st April to 31st March.

Union Budget 2021-2022 has been announced by the Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, on February 1, 2021. This is the second Union Budget of the third decade of the 21st century and the third one presented by Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman. Union Budget 2020-2021 focusses on six pillars- health & well-being, physical & financial capital & infrastructure, inclusive development for aspirational India, reinvigorating human capital, innovation & research & development, minimum government and maximum governance.
