Highlights 2021
In a new notice released by the Railway Recruitment Board, the RRB Group D recruitment exam has been postponed again until further notice, due to the ongoing pandemic situation. Once the restrictions in certain states are lifted, the Indian Railways will probably start the selection process.
Indian Railways can be counted among one of the most prestigious organizations in our country. It is a statutory body under the Ministry of Railways. Indian Railways recruits eligible Indian citizens to various positions through its recruitment body i.e. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) which manages all the recruitment processes for all posts. RRB had released the recruitment notification for various posts of Level 1 of 7th CPC pay Matrix in March 2019. The various posts for which the vacancies had been opened were Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant, Assistant Pointsman, Level-I posts in Indian Railways. The exam was supposed to be held in 2019 itself which got postponed and was later scheduled to be held in 2021. The online application window has already closed in 2019.

Candidates who have passed their 12th standard are also eligible to apply.
As per the new update, the number of vacancies that was earlier released by RRB for various posts have also increased now. The new number of vacancies is 1,03,769.
The RRB Group D recruitment exam 2021 will be held in three phases.
- CBT/Written Exam
- Physical Efficiency Test
- Document Verification & Medical Examination
The CBT will consist of 4 sections namely:
- General Science
- Mathematics
- General Intelligence and Reasoning
- General Awareness and Current Affairs
Phase 1 will consist of 100 marks and will consist of a total 100 questions. 90 minutes will be allotted for the paper. There will also be a 1/3rd negative marking in the exam. The candidates who qualify the first phase will subsequently be called for the second stage which will be the Physical Efficiency test and after successful completion of both these stages, the candidates will have to go through the final document verification.
