Indian Railways is one of the most prestigious organizations of our country. Indian railways is managed by the Ministry of Railways. Indian railways have a recruitment body i.e. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) which manages all the recruitment processes for various posts under Indian Railways. This time RRB has come up with recruitment of various posts of Level 1 to 7th CPC pay Matrix under recruitment of Railways Recruitment Group D posts. The various posts consist of Track Maintainer Grade IV, Assistant Bridge, Assistant Points Man, technical departments (Electrical, Mechanical) and Level 1 post of Indian Railways etc.

Railway Group D 2020 Exam Notification

Railway Recruitment Board is one of the largest recruitment bodies in India which manages the largest number of recruitments for Indian railways. Railway Recruitment Board will release its official notification for various posts under Railways Recruitment Group D posts. Candidates are advised to go through the official notification thoroughly in order to have a clear understanding about the exam.  Candidates are advised to fill out the application as soon as possible in order to avoid any last-minute rush. The application will be done by online mode only no other mode of filling the application is available.

Railway Group D 2020 Exam Pattern

The selection process of Railways Recruitment Group D  Exam consists of three phases and those are:

  • Written examination (CBT)
  • Physical efficiency test.
  • Document verification and Medical examination.

Railway Group D Written examination (CBT)

Before you start preparing for the examination, candidates are advised to look into the examination pattern in order to have a clear understanding about the Railways Recruitment Group D examination pattern. The examination consists of a  Computer Based Test (CBT). The sections that are included in the exam are General awareness, Mathematics, General English and General intelligence and reasoning. Each question consists of 1 mark. A total of 90 minutes (1hour and 30 minutes) will be allotted in the exam and the total number of questions will be of 100. There shall be a negative marking in the exam. 1/3rd of the marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

Railway Group D Physical Efficiency Test

Candidates who qualify the written examination (CBT) of Railways Recruitment Group D2020 exam will be called out for Physical Efficiency Test. Candidates will be called for PET on the merit. The basis of number of candidates that will be called for PET will be three times of the total number of vacancies category wise. However, the RRB has the right to increase or decrease the ratio. There is different task assigned to male and female separately which they have to finish on time.

* Please note that there is no PET for PwBD candidates.

  • Should be able to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down.
  • Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.
  • Should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down.
  • Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.

Railway Group D Syllabus

It is very important to be fully aware of the Railways Recruitment Group D syllabus before starting the preparation for the examination. The syllabus consists mainly of four sections namely General Awareness, Mathematics, General Science and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Topics like Number system, time and distance, LCM, HCF, percentages are included in the mathematics section whereas topics like coding decoding, Number series etc are a part of General Intelligence and Reasoning. For General Science a candidate needs to have a sound knowledge of Science including Physics Chemistry and Biology. Railway Group D Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must ensure his/her eligibility before filling the application form of Railways Recruitment Group D2020 Exam. There is a certain eligibility criteria required by the Railways Recruitment Board failing in which leads to cancellation of the applicant’s candidature. There are some eligibility requirements demanded by the Railway Recruitment Board such as Age criteria, Nationality, Educational Criteria, Physical efficiency test and medical standard test which a candidate needs to fulfil, only then he/she will be eligible for the desired post.

Railway Group D Educational Criteria

There are different educational qualifications for various posts released by Railways Recruitment Board. A candidate has to be 10th pass or ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by Government. This educational qualification is for different post that come under railways recruitment board such as Assistant pointsman, Assistant Bridge, Track maintainer Grade IV, Hospital attendant, Assistant (Signal and Telecom) along with various other posts. Railway Group D Age Criteria

RRB will invite applications from candidates who want to become a part of Indian Railways under Group D posts. The age limit to apply for the Railways Recruitment Group D posts is 18 to 33 years as on the date mentioned in the official notification. Railway Group D Age Relaxation

The relaxation in upper age limit is given to certain group of communities like OBC (Non creamy layer), SC/ST, PwBD, women candidates who are widowed/divorced etc for Railways Recruitment Group D2020 Exam. The candidates who fall under this category and seek age relaxation can refer the below table. Railway Group D Medical Standard

Those candidates who qualify the written examination (CBT) will be called out for Document verification, Physical efficiency test and medical test. Candidates are advised to ensure that they are eligible for the post they opted for. Failing in the medical standard for the opted post shall not be given any alternative appointment. Therefore, it is advised to the candidates to be very careful while filling out the application for the desired post. Medical test will take place to ensure that the candidates are fit to carry out the duties needed for the opted post in Railways Recruitment Group D exam. Railway Recruitment Group D Salary

Railways Group D 2020 Exam How to Apply

To apply for the post of Level 1 under Railways Recruitment Group D post2020, candidates first need to check the required eligiblilty for the desired post. There are certain steps that need to be followed in order to fill the application form. Candidates are advised to keep important documents like 10th certificate, ID proof, scanned photographs and other important documents with them while filling out the application form. Here we are proving the step by step process to apply for the post:

  • Candidates are required to go to the official link to apply for the post.
  • Select the railway you wish to apply for. (railway once selected cannot be changed).
  • Now click on the “New registration” link.
  • Enter all the required details like DOB, mothers name, Mobile number, Email id, Aadhar card number along with other details.
  • Review the whole application before clicking the submit button.
  • To verify the mobile number an OTP will be generated. Please ensure that you have entered the correct mobile number and email id as it will be used for further communication process.
  • A candidate has to upload the photograph and signature also here are the guidelines for uploading the photograph and signature:
  • For Photograph: JPEG image of 20kb to 50kb.
  • For signature: JPEG image of 10kb to 40kb.
  • A registration number will be generated which should be preserves for father process.
  • Login again by going to “Already registered” button.
  • Now in Part 2 of the process a candidate needs to prefer the post he/she wish to apply for.
  • After completion of the part 2 registration. Click on the submit and pay the application fees.

Railway Group D 2020 Exam Application Fee

After complete submission of the application form it is now time to pay the application fees wherever required. Without the application fee the applicant’s candidature is incomplete. Railway Group D 2020 Exam Admit Card

The admit cards for Railways Recruitment Board Group D posts are going to be released very soon. Candidates are advised to carefully download the admit card. Please note that admit cards will be available through online mode only. No admit card will be sent to any candidate by post. The Railways Recruitment Group D2020 admit card will contain all the relevant information like exam date, exam time and exam venue.
