The number of candidates that will be called for PET will be three times the total number of vacancies community-wise, however, the RRB has the right to increase or decrease the ratio. There are certain tasks that will be assigned to both males and females separately which they have finished on their respective time.
Please Note: There is no PET for PwBD candidates.
|Male candidates||Female candidates|
NOTE: For complete details on Medical standard please refer to the eligibility criteria section.
With an increasing number of competitions, RRB has introduced a marking scheme in which there shall be negative marking in the exam. A total of 1/3rd of the marks will be deducted for every wrong answer marked. It should also be noted that three is no negative marking for unattempted questions.
The exam is bilingual in nature. It means that the Railways Recruitment Group D exam can be attempted in either of the languages i.e. Hindi or English.
Normalization of Marks
Shortlisting in the online written exam will be based on the normalized marks obtained by the candidates as CBT will be conducted in multiple sessions for the same syllabus. The normalization scheme to be adopted for shortlisting the candidates from CBT to PET (as applicable) and for document verification is detailed below.
Calculation of Normalized Marks for Multi-Session Papers
As the RRB Group D exam may have to be conducted in multiple sessions (due to a large number of applicants), a suitable normalization is applied to take into account any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across different sessions. A standard formula for calculating the normalized marks for the multi-session papers will be followed, as given below
Please note that Railway Administration reserves the right to modify the formula/adopt different formula based on technical considerations.
