The Preliminary (Prelims) exam for LIC AAO is tentatively scheduled to be conducted in the month of May and the Mains exam is expected to be conducted in the month of June. A total of 590 vacancies have been announced by LIC for the above posts. Candidates will be allowed to apply for just ‘one’ post among ‘Generalist/IT/Chartered Accountant/Actuarial/Rajbhasha’. Being one of the most awaited exams, the level of the examination can be expected to be good. LIC has released the notification for AAO (Assistant Administrative Officer) for various posts and finally ended the wait for most of the government job aspirants. LIC provides great opportunities for career growth and thus the examination for LIC AAO cannot be taken lightly. The ‘Phase I’ of LIC AAO 2019 will be an online test consisting of three sections of English Language, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude respectively, not in any fixed order. All the three sections are allotted separate sectional timings of 20 minutes each, which makes the total timing to be of 1 hour with a total of 70 marks. The Prelims exam is common for all the posts.

Once the Prelims examination is over, the candidates who are able to qualify it will have to appear in the Mains examination. The LIC AAO Mains Exam is tentatively scheduled to be held on 28th June. The pattern of the Mains examination for all types of posts is mostly similar except a few changes in the number of subjects.
The Mains exam for Generalists will consist of 4 sections: Insurance & Financial Market Awareness, Data Analysis & Interpretation, Reasoning Ability and General Knowledge & Current Affairs. Apart from this objective test, the LIC AAO Mains Examination will also consist of a ‘Descriptive Test’ of 30 minutes duration which tests the English writing skills of the candidate. Thus, the total time duration of the examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes.

The LIC AAO Mains Exam for (IT/Chartered Accountant/Actuarial) also consists of four subjects /tests except that it has a test of ‘Professional Knowledge’ in place of General Awareness along with the usual ‘Descriptive English Test’.
The LIC AAO Mains Exam for the post of Rajbhasha consists of four subjects /tests, where the test for Data Analysis & Interpretation is replaced by General Knowledge & Current Affairs. All the sections are separately timed as in all the above posts.

In order to be able to apply for LIC AAO 2019, a candidate needs to follow a certain criteria with respect to age. Age of a candidate should not be below 21 years (as on March 1, 2019) and not above 30 years (Born not earlier than March 2, 1989 and not later than March 1, 1998).

Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of India.
There is a system of negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. It means that for one incorrect answer, one-fourth of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted. English Language test will be qualifying in nature and therefore marks will not be counted for ranking.
There is no such limit on how many times a candidate can attempt the LIC AAO 2019 Exam. Any candidate is eligible to appear in the examination until he / she attains the age of 30 years.
An Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) in LIC is entitled to receive a basic pay of Rs. 32795/- per month in the scale of Rs. 32795- 1610(14) –55335– 1745(4) –62315 and other admissible allowances as per rules. An AAO is also eligible for certain emoluments also, inclusive of House Rent Allowance (HRA) & City Compensatory Allowance (CCA) wherever admissible depending upon the classification of the city, which will amount to approximately Rs 56,000/- per month in ‘A’ Class city. Other benefits are Defined Contributory Pension, Special Allowance for passing Actuarial Examination, Gratuity, LTC, Cash Medical Benefit, Group Mediclaim, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Insurance , Vehicle Loan (2-wheeler/4 wheeler) as per rules, meal coupon, reimbursement towards cost of Briefcase leather bags, mobile handset, supply of dailies and magazines and tea/coffee, mobile expenses, etc. as per rules.

LIC has proposed a list of various exam centres in its official notification where the LIC AAO 2019 Examination will be held. Every year LIC allots various exam centres in different cities for the candidates where the online examination can be taken place smoothly. The candidate is alloted a centre depending on his choice of state and city. LIC reserves the right to allot any centre in that state / city and also change the centre by any reason whatsoever. A candidate is not permitted to request for any change in his/her exam centre.
LIC will release the admit cards for the LIC AAO 2019 Prelims Examination soon after the application process has ended. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards for the Preliminary examination from 22nd April to 30th April 2019.
