LIC AAO Exam Pattern 2020

LIC AAO (Assistant Administrative Officer) notification 2020 for various posts is released. LIC provides great opportunities for career growth and thus the examination for LIC AAO cannot be taken lightly. LIC AAO Prelims Exam Pattern 2020

The LIC AAO  Prelims exam 2020 will be an online test consisting of three sections - English Language, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude respectively, not in any fixed order. All the three sections in LIC AAO Prelims exam are allotted separate sectional timings. The LIC AAO Prelims exam is common for all the posts (Legal/IT/Chartered Accountant/Actuarial/Rajbhasha)

  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. It means that for one incorrect answer, one-fourth of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted.

LIC AAO Mains Exam Pattern 2020

Once the  LIC AAO Prelims examination is over, the candidates who are able to qualify it will have to appear in the LIC AAO Mains examination. The LIC AAO Mains Exam will held once the result of Phase 1 is out. The LIC AAO Mains exam pattern for all types of posts is mostly similar except a few changes in the number of subjects. LIC AAO Personal Interview 2020

The candidates who are able to qualify the LIC AAO 2020 Mains Examination will be called for the LIC AAO Phase 3, i.e. Personal Interview (PI), where they will have to face an interview board where they can be asked questions from any subject / area. LIC AAO Salary 2020

A LIC Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) is entitled to receive a basic pay of Rs. 32795/- per month in the scale of Rs. 32795- 1610(14) –55335– 1745(4) –62315 and other admissible allowances as per rules. An AAO is eligible for certain emoluments also, inclusive of House Rent Allowance (HRA) & City Compensatory Allowance (CCA) wherever admissible depending upon the classification of the city, which will amount to approximately Rs 57,000/- per month in ‘A’ Class city. Other benefits are Defined Contributory Pension, Special Allowance for passing Actuarial Examination, Gratuity, LTC, Cash Medical Benefit, Group Mediclaim, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Insurance , Vehicle Loan (2-wheeler/4 wheeler) as per rules, meal coupon, reimbursement towards cost of Briefcase leather bags, mobile handset, supply of dailies and magazines and tea/coffee, mobile expenses, etc. as per rules.

LIC AAO Job Profile

Once you qualify all the stages of the LIC AAO Examination and get selected as an Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO), you would be given a department / branch according to your category of post. You will be heading / managing that particular department. LIC AAO is mainly an administrative job, as the title of the post suggests. We can put the job responsibilities of an AAO in few steps as follows:

  • Negotiations will have to be done with the Agents/ Development Officers.
  • Client interaction and inspection of the claims made by them.
  • Processing of the policy applications.
  • Coordination with other departments.
  • Maintaining the databases.
  • Inspecting the policies that already exist.

Once you gain an experience of 3-5 years, you will be eligible to get promoted to the post of ‘Administrative Officer’ (AO), which will be an enhanced version of the Assistant Administrative Officer job. Both being administrative jobs, an LIC AO will be an advanced form of the LIC AAO.

LIC AAO Marking Scheme

There is a system of negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer in LIC AAO exam. It means that for one incorrect answer, one-fourth of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted. LIC AAO Exam Language

The LIC Assistant exam will be bilingual in nature i.e. in each section questions will be asked in English and Hindi both. You can attempt the whole paper in whichever language you want to attempt or can switch to any language in between for that particular section. The English Language section will be in English only.

AE (Electrical) B.Tech/B.E. (Electrical) from an AICTE recognized Indian University/Institution. Candidate should have a minimum three years working experience in planning and execution of multi storied building projects with all required infrastructure.
Assistant Architect B. Arch. from a recognized Indian University/Institution. Candidate should be registered with Council of Architecture and possess a minimum of three years experience in designing of all types of buildings with allied services. Candidate should also be well versed with green building design requirements and application of AutoCAD software and / or similar type software.
AE (Structural) M. Tech / M.E. (Structural) from an AICTE recognized Indian University/ Institution. Candidate should be well versed with structural design of high rise building with the foundation system. He/she should be familiar with various standards of BIS pertaining to structural design and Foundation design and must be experienced in handling of structural engineering software like ETABS, STAAD etc. Candidates applying for the post must possess minimum one year hands on experience in the area.
AE (MEP engineers) B. Tech./ B.E. (Mechanical/ Electrical) from an AICTE recognized Indian University/Institution. Candidate should have a minimum three years experience in planning and execution of Plumbing / Piping / HVAC system, Lift & Fire Fighting system, Electrical Sub-station in multi storied buildings.
AAO (Chartered Accountant Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Indian University/Institution and Candidates should have passed Final Examination of Institute of Chartered Accountant and completion of Articles as presented by Institute of Chartered Accountant. The candidate should be Associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
AAO (Actuarial) Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution and Candidates should have compulsorily passed 6 or more papers of the examination conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK. as on the date of eligibility i.e. 1st February, 2020. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.
AAO (Legal) Bachelor’s degree in Law or LLM from a recognized Indian University/Institution. Three years Bar experience is essential.
AAO (Rajbhasha)
  • Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi translation with English as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s Degree level OR
  • Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi Post Graduate Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s degree level OR
  • Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at Bachelor’s degree level.
AAO (IT) Graduation degree in Engineering (Computer Science, IT or Electronics), or MCA or MSC (Computer Science) from a recognized Indian University/ Institution.

In order to be able to apply for LIC AAO 2020, a candidate needs to follow a certain criteria with respect to age. Age of a candidate should not be below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.02.2020, mentioned in the LIC AAO notification 2020 .

LIC AAO Examination 2020: How to Apply Online

All the eligible candidates are expected to apply for their respective category of posts according to the eligibility. The candidates are expected to fill in the complete details in the LIC AAO online application form and without completing the application procedure, the candidates will not be permitted to appear in the LIC AAO examination. The step-by-step procedure is as follows:

Candidates should keep the following documents ready before applying online for LIC AAO:

  • Scanned photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm)
  • Signature (with black ink)
  • left thumb impression (on white paper with black or blue ink)
  • a hand-written declaration (on a white paper with black ink) with the text mentioned in the official notification.

Once you have all the required documents, start the LIC AAO application process:

    • Go to the official website of LIC: www.licindia.in and click on the click on the ‘Careers’ to open the link “ Recruitment of Assistant Administrative Officer 2020”. It redirects the candidates to the online registration page. To register the application, choose the tab "Click here for New Registration" and enter Name, Contact details and Email-id.
    • A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent. Click on Save & Next button to move forward.
    • You will now be redirected to the next page of the form where you will be asked to upload your scanned passport size photograph and signature based on the specification mentioned therein and click on the next button.
    • After you move on to the next page, you will have to fill in your personal details including your educational qualifications.
    • After you are finished with entering the details, the preview of your form will be shown, so that if you find any error, you may edit and correct it. Once the application is submitted, you will not be able to edit it.
    • At the end, you will have to choose a preferable online payment method to submit the LIC AAO application fee. You can pay the LIC AAO fees through credit card / debit card / net banking etc.
    • Click on the 'Submit' button to complete the application.

While applying online, candidates should keep in mind a few important points:

  • Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.
  • The left thumb impression should be properly scanned and not smudged. (If a candidate is not having left thumb, he/she may use his/ her right thumb for applying.)
  • The hand-written declaration has to be in the candidate’s handwriting and in English only. If it is written and uploaded by anybody else or in any other language, the LIC AAO application will be considered as invalid.
  • Have a valid personal email ID and mobile no., which should be kept active till the completion of the LIC AAO  Recruitment Process. LIC may send intimation to download call letters for the  LIC AAO Examination etc. through the registered email ID.

LIC AAO Application Fee

Once a candidate is done with filling all the required details for LIC AAO 2020 and uploaded all documents required, the last stage is to submit the online LIC AAO application fee. As the LIC AAO examination and application both are in online mode, therefore the payment mode will also be online and you will have to choose from the given online payment options. LIC AAO Exam Centre

 Every year LIC allots various exam centres in different cities for the candidates where the  LIC AAO online examination will be conducted. LIC reserves the right to allot any centre in that state / city and also change the centre by any reason whatsoever.
