LIC AAO Exam Notification

LIC is the largest insurance company in India and thus its recruitment notification is awaited by most of the aspirants. Being an insurance sector job, most of the aspirants are attracted towards this job owing to the facilities, perks and comforts. LIC has just released notification announcing vacancies for the post of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) (Generalist/IT/Chartered Accountant/Actuarial/Rajbhasha). The Preliminary (Prelims) exam for LIC AAO is tentatively scheduled to be conducted in the month of May and the Mains exam is expected to be conducted in the month of June. A total of 590 vacancies have been announced by LIC for the above posts. Candidates will be allowed to apply for just ‘one’ post among ‘Generalist/IT/Chartered Accountant/Actuarial/Rajbhasha’. Being one of the most awaited exams, the level of the examination can be expected to be good. LIC AAO Exam Pattern

LIC has released the notification for AAO (Assistant Administrative Officer) for various posts and finally ended the wait for most of the government job aspirants. LIC provides great opportunities for career growth and thus the examination for LIC AAO cannot be taken lightly. Therefore, it is advisable to be aware of the exam format and pattern to avoid any errors later. The pattern of LIC AAO 2019 will be the same as the last examination. There are no changes in the pattern. The LIC AAO examination is conducted in three phases:

  • Phase I - Prelims or Preliminary Examination
  • Phase II - Mains Examination
  • Phase III - Interview

After all the phases are completed, the final list of the selected candidates is released.

LIC AAO 2019 Phase I- Prelims Exam Pattern

The ‘Phase I’ of LIC AAO 2019 will be an online test consisting of three sections of English Language, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude respectively, not in any fixed order. All the three sections are allotted separate sectional timings of 20 minutes each, which makes the total timing to be of 1 hour with a total of 70 marks. The Prelims exam is common for all the posts.

  • There is a provision of negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. It means that for one incorrect answer, one-fourth of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted.
  • *English Language test will be qualifying in nature and therefore marks will not be counted for ranking.

LIC AAO 2019 Phase – II: Mains Exam Pattern

Once the Prelims examination is over, the candidates who are able to qualify it will have to appear in the Mains examination. The LIC AAO Mains Exam is tentatively scheduled to be held on 28th June. The pattern of the Mains examination for all types of posts is mostly similar except a few changes in the number of subjects.

LIC AAO 2019 (Generalist) Mains Exam Pattern:

The Mains exam for Generalists will consist of 4 sections: Insurance & Financial Market Awareness, Data Analysis & Interpretation, Reasoning Ability and General Knowledge & Current Affairs. Apart from this objective test, the LIC AAO Mains Examination will also consist of a ‘Descriptive Test’ of 30 minutes duration which tests the English writing skills of the candidate. Thus, the total time duration of the examination will be 2 hours 30 minutes.

The LIC AAO Mains Exam for (IT/Chartered Accountant/Actuarial) also consists of four subjects /tests except that it has a test of ‘Professional Knowledge’ in place of General Awareness along with the usual ‘Descriptive English Test’.

LIC AAO Eligibility Criteria

LIC released the official notification, where it has specified the complete eligibility criteria with respect to age, nationality, education etc. All the candidates who are willing to apply need to conform to the eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification, to avoid any unwanted consequences later.

Educational Criteria

All the candidates need to follow the specified eligibility criteria with respect to educational qualification to ensure their candidature for the LIC AAO 2019 Exam. A candidate needs to have the following educational qualification/s in order to be eligible to fill the application form for LIC AAO. A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree from a recognized university or institute.

Age Criteria

In order to be able to apply for LIC AAO 2019, a candidate needs to follow a certain criteria with respect to age. Age of a candidate should not be below 21 years (as on March 1, 2019) and not above 30 years (Born not earlier than March 2, 1989 and not later than March 1, 1998).

An Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) in LIC is entitled to receive a basic pay of Rs. 32795/- per month in the scale of Rs. 32795- 1610(14) –55335– 1745(4) –62315 and other admissible allowances as per rules. An AAO is also eligible for certain emoluments also, inclusive of House Rent Allowance (HRA) & City Compensatory Allowance (CCA) wherever admissible depending upon the classification of the city, which will amount to approximately Rs 56,000/- per month in ‘A’ Class city. Other benefits are Defined Contributory Pension, Special Allowance for passing Actuarial Examination, Gratuity, LTC, Cash Medical Benefit, Group Mediclaim, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Insurance , Vehicle Loan (2-wheeler/4 wheeler) as per rules, meal coupon, reimbursement towards cost of Briefcase leather bags, mobile handset, supply of dailies and magazines and tea/coffee, mobile expenses, etc. as per rules.

LIC AAO Examination 2019 How to Apply

All the eligible candidates are expected to apply for their respective category of posts according to the eligibility. The candidates are expected to fill in the complete details in the online application form and without completing the application procedure, the candidates will not be permitted to appear in the examination. The step-by-step procedure is as follows:

Candidates should keep the following documents ready before applying online:

  • Scanned photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm)
  • Signature (with black ink)
  • left thumb impression (on white paper with black or blue ink)
  • a hand-written declaration (on a white paper with black ink) with the text given below. This handwritten declaration ensures that all these scanned documents adhere to the required specifications.

Once you have all the required documents, start the application process:

  1. Go to the official website of LIC: www.licindia.in and click on the click on the ‘Careers’ to open the link “ Recruitment of Assistant Administrative Officer 2019”. It redirects the candidates to the online registration page. To register the application, choose the tab "Click here for New Registration" and enter Name,Contact details and Email-id.
  1. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent. Click on Save & Next button to move forward.
  1. You will now be redirected to the next page of the form where you will be asked to upload your scanned passport size photograph and signature based on the specification mentioned therein and click on the next button.
  1. After you move on to the next page, you will have to fill in your personal details including your educational qualifications.
  1. After you are finished with entering the details, the preview of your form will be shown, so that if you find any error, you may edit and correct it. Once the application is submitted, you will not be able to edit it.
  1. At the end, you will have to choose a preferable online payment method to submit the application fee for IBPS PO. You can pay the fees through credit card / debit card / net banking etc.
  1. Click on the 'Submit' button to complete the application.

While applying online, candidates should keep in mind a few important points:

  • Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.
  • The left thumb impression should be properly scanned and not smudged. (If a candidate is not having left thumb, he/she may use his/ her right thumb for applying.)
  • The hand-written declaration has to be in the candidate’s handwriting and in English only. If it is written and uploaded by anybody else or in any other language, the application will be considered as invalid.
  • Have a valid personal email ID and mobile no., which should be kept active till the completion of this Recruitment Process. LIC may send intimation to download call letters for the Examination etc. through the registered email ID.

LIC AAO Exam Centres

LIC has proposed a list of various exam centres in its official notification where the LIC AAO 2019 Examination will be held. Every year LIC allots various exam centres in different cities for the candidates where the online examination can be taken place smoothly. The candidate is alloted a centre depending on his choice of state and city. LIC reserves the right to allot any centre in that state / city and also change the centre by any reason whatsoever. A candidate is not permitted to request for any change in his/her exam centre.

LIC AAO 2019 Admit Card

LIC will release the admit cards for the LIC AAO 2019 Prelims Examination soon after the application process has ended. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards for the Preliminary examination from 22nd April to 30th April 2019. The admit cards for the LIC AAO 2019 Mains Examination will also be released few days after the Prelims examination.
