HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) 2020 Notification

HTET2020 Exam is a much awaited notification for the candidates who all are looking for a teaching post in government sector. HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) 2020 Exam Pattern

HTET2020 exam pattern is same for all three levels, the only difference lies in the difficulty level of the exam. The subjects that are involved in the exam pattern are General Studies, Mathematics, Languages (Hindi and English), Environmental Studies and Child Development and Pedagogy. 

Level 1- Primary Teacher (Class I to V)

The HTET examination pattern for primary teacher includes sections namely General Studies (Quantitative aptitude, Reasoning Ability, Haryana General Awareness), Child Development and Pedagogy, Languages (Hindi and English), Environmental Studies, and Mathematics. The total time allotted for the exam will be two and a half hours. 150 questions will be asked for 150 marks. Each section will have 30 MCQs for which 30 marks will be allotted. Level 2- Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) (Class VI to VIII)

The level 2 exam is for teachers who want to teach from Class 6th to class 8th. The TET examination pattern for Level 2 exam (TGT) is different from the examination pattern of the Level 1(Primary Teacher). The difficulty level of the Level 2 exam is also higher than that of level 1 exam. The HTET Level 2 exam pattern consists of four sections namely Child Development and Pedagogy, General studies (Quantitative Aptitude, Haryana G.K, Reasoning ability), Languages (English and Hindi) and the subject which was opted by the candidate at the time of filling up the application form. The total number of questions are 150 with a time limit of two and a half hours. The TET examination pattern for Level 2 (TGT) exam is given in the tabular from below:

Level 3- For Post Graduate teacher (PGT)

For HTET Level 3 examination i.e. PGT exam, the examination pattern is same as that of Level 2 (TGT) exam. The total exam will be of 150 marks. The sections included will be Child development and pedagogy, Languages (Hindi and English), General Studies and opted subject which will be of 60 marks.   • The question asked in the exam will be for class VIII to XII but the difficulty level of the exam could  go up to postgraduate level.

HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) Qualifying Marks

HTET has implied certain norms in qualifying examination. To qualify HTET Exam, a candidate needs to acquire minimum marks as decided by the Board of School Education, Haryana. It should also be noted that qualifying the exam,  does not immediately make a candidate eligible for recruitment, this will be decided by the board. The qualification certificate is valid for five years from the date of qualifying exam. A minimum of 60% (90) marks are required for the candidates other than (SC and PH candidates belong to the state of Haryana). For SC and PH candidates (Haryana) minimum qualifying marks are 55% (82 marks). Below is the minimum qualifying marks requirement for all three levels.

HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) Syllabus

HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) 2019 Eligibility Criteria

A candidate needs to be fully aware of the complete eligibility criteria before deciding to apply for the HTET Exam2020. If a candidate fails to follow any of the below mentioned eligibility criteria, he/she will be disqualified from the examination and a candidate will not be able to apply for the exam. The eligibility criteria include educational qualification, age criteria, nationality etc.

Educational Criteria

In order to apply for the HTET Exam, a candidate needs to possess certain educational qualifications. There is a different educational qualification for different levels of posts. It is advisable to the candidates to look at the educational criteria carefully and then apply accordingly. All of these are mentioned below:

Level 1 (For PRT Classes I to V)

There are various eligibility conditions available for the candidates who want to apply for the post of PRT in HTET exam. One such eligibility is that a candidate must be senior secondary with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final of 4-year degree of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) etc. For complete details on the educational qualification for a PRT is given in tabular form below.

Level 2(For TGT (Class VI to VIII))

If a candidate wants to apply for the Trained Graduate Teacher post he/she needs to be a Graduate in the respective subjects he/she applied for. A candidate must read out complete details about the eligibility criteria in order to have a clear understanding on this section. 3 TGT Mathematics:
  • B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com with at least 50% marks in Mathematics as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2007 published on 31 August, 2009.
  • In case of B.Ed., Mathematics as a teaching subject from a recognized university.
  • Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A/ M.A. with Hindi as one of the subject.
4 TGT English
  • B.A with at least 50% marks in English as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2007 notified on 31 August, 2009.
  • In case of B.Ed, English as a teaching subject from a recognized university.
  • Matric with Hindi/ Sanskrit or 10+2/ B.A/ M.A with Hindi as one of the subject.
5 TGT Hindi

Level 3 Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)

For Level 3 post as Post graduate Teacher minimum qualification is a postgraduate along with others required depending upon the subjects he/she is applying for. HTET Age Criteria

While filling any application form the biggest concern for a candidate is the age limit because many of the exams require certain age limit to be able to apply for the exam. There is good news for the candidates who want to appear for the HTET exam as there is no age limit criteria to apply for this exam. There is no limit for the number of attempts also whereas the qualification certificate is valid for five years from the date of qualification.

  • A candidate needs to visit the official website http:/ htetonline.com.
  • Then go to ‘apply online’ option for HTET and start filling the application form.
  • After that a candidate needs to fill all the required details in the application form like DOB, father's name, Mother name, all educational details etc.
  • Please note that an identification proof and identification number is mandatory for filling the application form.
  • After filling the application form it's now time to upload photographs, Signature and Thumb impression which is made through online mode. Candidates are advised to keep scanned images of all three at the time of filling out the application form.
  • Guidelines for Uploading Photograph, Signature and thumb impression:
    • Size of photograph- 20kb to 50 kb
    • Size of signature- 10kb to 20 kb
    • Size of thumb impression- 10kb to 30kb
    • Image dimension guidelines: the photograph should 3.5 cm(width)X 4.5cm (Height) only.
  • Now, a candidate needs to pay the application fee for the application form.
  • After successful submission of the form, a candidate may take a print out of the form for future use.

HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) 2020 Exam Admit card

After 15-20 days of closure of application process. HTET official website will release the admit cards in which all the relevant information will be present like: Examination Centre, Examination Venue, Examination Time. Please note that an admit card will only be valid if it has a visible scanned photo and signature in it. It should also be noted that the admit cards are available through online mode only. No admit card will be posted offline.
