The State Bank of India is an Indian multinational, public sector banking and financial services company. SBI conducts an examination every year to recruit eligible candidates for the post of PO . SBI is one of the largest banking organization in the country which also has its branches extended overseas. It is a government-owned corporation which is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. SBI releases an official notification almost every year where it announces vacancies for the post of PO (Probationary Officer). The notification for SBI PO 2019 is released now, where all the details of the eligibility and the application process are mentioned. The candidates need to conform to the eligibility criteria specified in the notification to avoid cancellation of their candidature in future.
SBI will be conducting its examination in the upcoming months. Being among the most awaited jobs, SBI offers great opportunities for career growth and thus the examination for SBI PO can not be taken lightly. Therefore, it is advisable to be aware of the exam format and pattern to avoid any errors later. The pattern of SBI PO 2019 is similar to last year. SBI PO 2019 is conducted in three phases:
After all the phases are completed, the final list of the selected candidates is released which are supposed to be given their respective postings.
The ‘Phase I’ of SBI PO 2019 will be an online test consisting of three sections of English Language, Reasoning Ability and Numerical Ability respectively, not in any fixed order. All the three sections are allotted separate sectional timings of 20 minutes each, which makes the total timing to be of 1 hour with a total of 100 marks

Once the Prelims examination is over, the candidates who are able to qualify it are supposed to appear in the Mains examination. The SBI PO Mains Exam will consist of 4 sections: English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude and General / Economy / Banking Awareness respectively. Apart from this objective test, the SBI PO Mains Examination also consists of a ‘Descriptive Test’ of 30 minutes duration which tests English writing skills of the candidate. Thus, the total time duration of the examination will be 3 hours 30 minutes.

(ii) Descriptive Test
The Descriptive test of the SBI PO Mains Exam will be held in continuation with the Objective one and all the candidates are supposed to appear for this exam, though the test will be evaluated only for those who manage to score qualifying marks in the objective test.
Letter Writing & Essay
The candidates who are able to qualify the SBI PO Mains Examination will be called for the Phase III, i.e. Group Discussion (GD) & Personal Interview (PI),in the ratio of 3:1 with respect to the vacancies, where they will have to participate in group exercises and face an interview board where they can be asked questions from any subject / area. The qualifying marks or cut-off for this round will be later decided and announced by the bank and the distribution of marks for both the activities is given below:
After all the three phases of SBI PO Examination will be finished, a final merit list will be declared wherein the list of selected candidates will be given, based on their scores in the Mains and Interview round. A final cut-off will be declared depending on the candidates’ obtained scores and the vacancies available and those who are able to clear the final cut-off range will finally be appointed to the post.

SBI PO 2019 Mains Examination consists of five tests unlike the Prelims where there are only three. SBI has released the official notification for SBI PO 2019. SBI specifies fixed eligibility criteria with respect to education and age for the candidates who are willing to apply for the post of SBI PO. In order to ensure a successful application, it is extremely necessary to check the complete eligibility criteria and then continue filling the application.
All the candidates need to conform to the specified eligibility criteria to ensure their candidature for the SBI PO 2019 Exam. A candidate needs to have a certain educational qualification in order to be eligible to fill in the application form for SBI PO.
A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. In order to be able to apply for SBI PO 2019, a candidate needs to follow a certain criteria with respect to age. Age of a candidate should not be below 21 years and not above 30 years.
