Highlights 2024
The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) released a notification announcing vacancies for the posts of Administrative Officer (AO) and Finance & Accounts Officer (F&AO) at ICAR Research Institutes. The official notification was released on July 19, 2021. The online application process commenced on July 23, 2021. ICAR refers to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The rules issued by ICAR are followed when it comes to recruitment and remuneration of the employees. The ASRB will be responsible for holding this ICAR exam 2024 for both the above-mentioned posts. The ICAR AO, Finance & Accounts Officer online exam was held on May 10, 2022.
At certain selected centres, the exam could not be held due to some technical issues and the ICAR online exam for these centres was held on May 21, 2022.

Notification
The ICAR Research Institutes will be recruiting eligible candidates to the posts of Administrative Officer (AO) and Finance & Accounts Officer (F&AO) and thus have invited applications for the same. The notification was released on July 19, 2021. There is an online objective type exam in the first phase which was earlier set to be conducted in October but was postponed and conducted on May 10, 2022. For certain centres, the exam could not be conducted due to some technical issues, therefore was conducted on May 21, 2022. A total of 65 vacancies have been announced for both the posts by the ASRB. Exam Pattern
Before you start your ICAR exam preparation, it is extremely important to take note of the exam pattern. The ICAR AO and F&AO selection process 2024 will consist of three phases as follows:
- Tier 1 - Online objective test
- Tier 2 - Online descriptive test
- Tier 3 - Interview / Personality Test
The online objective test (Tier 1) will consist of 200 questions from four sections. Candidates will be provided a composite time duration of 3 hours. All the questions will carry 1 mark each and there will be a negative marking of 1/3rd marks. This phase will be qualifying in nature and will be followed by a descriptive test and the final stage of the Interview.
Note: Tier 1 exam will be common for all the posts.

Syllabus
Syllabus is an integral part of any exam preparation. A preparation strategy or study plan is incomplete without enough knowledge of the exam syllabus. Salary

Eligibility Criteria
If you are interested in applying for any of the posts among Administrative Officer (AO), Finance & Accounts Officer (F&AO), you should first ensure your eligibility well in advance. It is very important to take note of the complete eligibility criteria for the ICAR exam before you apply. To be eligible for this exam, a candidate must possess a Graduate degree with minimum 55% marks for all the posts.
A candidate applying to any one / both the posts, should also fall within the age bracket of 21 - 30 years. A candidate should not have attained the age of 30 years as on Aug 23, 2021.
