Railways recruitment ALP/ Technician 2021 Syllabus
One of the most important things to look out for in the Railways recruitment ALP/ Technician2021 exam is the examination syllabus. For the First Stage, the syllabus is the same for both ALP and Technician posts. The subjects that are involved in the exam are Mathematics, General Science, General Awareness and General Intelligence and Reasoning. For the second stage, in the place of General science a section called Basic Science and Engineering is added. Railways recruitment ALP/ Technician 2021 Pattern
Railways recruitment ALP/ Technician 2020 Examination Pattern will consist of following stages. Out of which some will be computer based and last will be document verification.
The detail on number of stages in an examination pattern of Railways recruitment ALP/ Technician 2020 Exam Notification is given below:
- First Stage CBT (Computer Based Test)
- Second Stage CBT (Computer Based Test)
- Computer Based Test ( only for ALP)
- Document verification
The above two exams will be common for both ALP and Technician posts. For ALP post, those who will qualify second stage CBT will be called for the third stage. A candidate has to qualify in each of the test battery of Computer Based Exam.
In the first stage of the exam, a total of 75 minutes will be given and 60 questions will be allotted for the exam. It should be noted that the first stage of the exam is qualifying in nature which means this exam is only for shortlisting the candidates for Second Stage CBT. The subjects involved in the examination pattern will be General Science, General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning and Mathematics.

The second stage of the exam will be held in two parts i.e., Part A and Part B. The Part A will consist of 100 questions and a total time of 90 minutes will be given. Part A of the exam consists of Mathematics, Basic Science and Engineering, General Awareness on current affairs and General Intelligence and Reasoning.

Part B on the other hand is qualifying in nature, a minimum of 35% is required to qualify and no relaxation will be permissible to the reserved candidates in this exam. A total duration of 60 Minutes will be there for the exam and the total number of questions will be 75. Questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET) will come in the Part B exam.

Railways ALP/ Technician 2021 Admit Card
Railways recruitment ALP/ Technician2021 exam admit card will be released once the online application form date is closed. Please note that no admit card will be sent by post. The admit card will be available through online mode only. Candidates have to login from their Registration ID and password to access the admit card. The admit card will contain all the information related to exam centre, exam time and examination venue.
Railway ALP/ Technician 2021 Qualifying marks
There will be minimum qualifying marks requirement in the Railways recruitment ALP/ Technician2021 exam. There are generally three stages in the examination pattern. For each stage candidates have to acquire minimum qualifying marks. There is certain relaxation given to reserved candidates.
First stage qualifying marks
For stage one, an unreserved candidate has to secure at least 40% of the maximum marks as qualifying marks, reserved candidates on the other hand, have to get 30% of the maximum marks. To know more details about the qualifying marks please refer the table below:

For Part A exam, the qualifying marks for all the categories are different. An unreserved category candidates needs 40% of the maximum marks whereas an OBC and SC candidates have to get 30% of the maximum marks. Other details are provided below in the table.
