Railways recruitment ALP/ Technician 2020 Pattern

The examination pattern of Railways recruitment ALP/ Technician 2020 exam consists of three stages. Two stages will be common for both ALP and technician posts whereas the third stage will be for the candidates who opted for ALP post. The following is the Railways recruitment ALP/ Technician 2020 examination pattern:

  • First Stage CBT (Computer Based Test)
  • Second Stage CBT (Computer Based Test)

The first stage of the exam will consist of a total of 75 minutes and 60 questions will be given for the exam. The first stage of the exam is qualifying in nature which means candidates who will qualify will go to the second stage of the exam. The Railways recruitment ALP/ Technician 2020 examination pattern will consist of General Science, General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and Mathematics.

The second stage of the exam will be held in two parts i.e., Part A and Part B. The Part A will consist of a total of 90 min and 100 questions will be asked. Part A exam of the second stage (CBT) consists of Mathematics, Basic Science and Engineering, General Awareness on current affairs and General Intelligence and Reasoning.

Part B of Second Stage exam is qualifying in nature which means a minimum of 35% is qualifying. It should be noted that no relaxation will be permissible to the reserved candidates in this exam. A total duration of 60 Minutes will be there for the exam and the total number of questions will be 75. Questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director-General of Employment & Training (DGET) will come in the Part B exam.
