International Yoga Day 2019: 5 Best Yoga Asanas To Help You Beat The Exam Stress

June 21 is celebrated as International Yoga Day every year to mark the importance and significance of Yoga in one’s Life. International Yoga Day or we can say world yoga day was started in 2015 and since then every year June 21 is celebrated as Yoga day. “Yoga” was derived from Sanskrit meaning to connect or join a person’s body and consciousness. Many of you might be preparing for many bank exams like SBI Clerk, IBPS PO, NABARD, LIC AAO, etc and therefore might be feeling the stress and heat preparing for these exams. You might be experiencing a lack of concentration, lack of energy, lack of sleep and might be getting nightmares about how will you perform on the day of the exam. You might be thinking about how to calm down and combat this exam stress, do not worry, YOGA is the answer to all your problems!!!!

Let us look at a few yoga postures which are very good stress busters:

Yoga is considered as a great source of stress buster. If you practice yoga during your exam preparation time, it will make your preparation smooth, easier and stress-free.

  1. Surya Namaskar:


Surya Namaskar consists of 12 yoga postures that will help in working of different organs and glands in the body. Surya Namaskar will help in blood movement in the body which will, in turn, make the body feel energetic.

Tip: Practicing at least 3 rounds of Surya Namaskar every morning before you start your study session will benefit you the most.

  1. Pranayama

Pranayama is a breathing exercise which will help you feel lighter. It is also a great stress buster which soothes the active thinking mind. Pranayama is done by inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.

Tip: Practice Pranayama every morning for 5 minutes to feel lighter.

  1. Matsyasana (Fish Pose)

Matsyasana which is a fish pose is the best way to circulate blood to the head. Not only this it also helps in relieving stress in the neck and also relieving tension which in-turn makes you feel fresh. To perform Fish pose position you need to first lie flat on your back and then bend your right leg and place the right foot on top of the left thigh and do the same with the left leg as well. Lift your back using your elbows and ensure that it forms an arch and rest your head on the ground simultaneously. Now hold your big toes with your hands.

Tip: Practice Matsyana to feel fresh in the morning and relieve stress in neck.

  1. Vajrasana

To improve blood flow and digestion, Vajrasana is the best. It calms your mind and improves your concentration. To perform Vajrasana you need to kneel down on the floor and sit back on your heels. You need to make sure your back, neck and head are in a line.

Tip: Performing Vajrasana for 10 minutes will help you feel lighter as it helps digestion.

  1. Virasana (Hero Pose)

Virasana (Hero Pose) is another yoga posture that will help relieve stress and improve concentration. To perform Virasana you need to kneel down and keep your inner thighs and knees together. Next you need to move your feet outwards and sit back. Your legs should be on your side and your knees should be on the floor. Hold this position for couple of minutes and return to the original position.

Tip: Performing Virasana will also help you in forgoing stress.
