IBPS SO Marketing Officer Eligibility Cross-Check

Q: I am in the 1st year of my MBA. Am I eligible to apply? 

A: No. You must’ve completed your course and have your results declared on or before November 23, 2021. 

Q: Can I send in 2 applications for 2 separate posts?

A: No, you can apply for 1 post only. Multiple applications will be rejected. 

Q: I was born in June 1991, am I eligible to apply? 

A: No. The official notification clearly states that eligible candidates must be born on or after November 2, 1991 and on or before November 1, 2001. 

Q: What is the age bracket to be eligible for this exam?

A: A candidate must be between 20 and 30 years of age. Refer to the previous question for important dates to determine eligibility. 

Q: Which eligibility relaxations will apply?

A: All relaxations for reserved groups in terms of age and education will apply.

The IBPS SO Marketing Officer selection process comprises three stages.

  1. Prelims
  2. Mains 
  3. Interview.

Please note

  • A penalty of 0.25 mark will be applicable in both phases of examination. 
  • Marks obtained only in the online main examination will be considered for shortlisting for interview and also for final merit listing.
  • All tests, except the English Language Test can be taken in both Hindi or English. 


The final stage of the selection entails an Interview. Candidates who qualify the Mains examination will be invited for an Interview. 

  • The total marks allotted for the Interview are 100.
  • The weightage of the written exam to the Interview is 80:20
