Phase wise Preparation for RBI Grade B 2021 Exam
RBI Grade B Phase 1 Exam
There are only 65 days till the Phase 2 exam of which you get 40 days for the Phase 1 exam and only 25 days for the Phase 2 exam. In 2019, RBI introduced sectional timings for each section in the Phase 1 exam. Phase 1 can be categorized further as shown below.
Non-calculations based questions are the most scoring of which General Awareness questions carries 40% weightage of the total marks. Moreover, the overall exam cut-off is higher than the sectional cut-off. Even if you are meeting sectional cut-offs you may not necessarily meet the overall cut-off. Hence, it is essential to learn how to make it through the sectional and overall cut-offs.
It is important to note that RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam is qualifying in nature hence you should always aim to obtain the cut-off marks. Anything more than the cut-off will still help you to only qualify for Phase 2 exam.
REMEMBER: Phase 1 is your entry pass to appear for Phase 2 exam.
RBI Grade Phase 2 Exam
This is the most important phase of all the three phases. The marks you score in this exam determine whether you will make it to the RBI Grade B officers list or not. Every mark in this paper will indicate your rank and seniority at RBI. RBI Grade B Phase 2 exam is of 300 marks divided equally among the three sections – Economic and Social Issues, Descriptive English and Financial Management.
RBI Grade B Phase 3 Exam
The interview also determines your overall merit list but is of 75 marks and carries 20% weightage in the overall merit list. Hence, you should emphasize more on Phase 2.
