SSC has released its notification for Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) examination on 5th March 2019. Every year SSC releases a notification to recruit eligible candidates under various job categories. The recent notification has been released for the SSC CHSL vacancies that were supposed to be filled in the year 2018, but due to some unexpected reasons, the examination got cancelled. SSC has now invited applications for filling up its 3259 vacancies under various posts as follows:

  • LDC/ JSA
  • Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant
  • DEO

SSC CHSL 2019 Eligibility Criteria

SSC has released its official notification for SSC CHSL wherein it has specified the eligibility criteria in detail. The important details related to eligibility criteria are as follows:

The candidates must have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.
DEO ( Office of Comptroller & Auditor General) The candidate should have passed 12th standard in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized board or university.

 

SSC CHSL 2019 Age Criteria

All the candidates need to follow a fixed age criteria for SSC CHSL 2019 Examination. SSC has specified a particular age limit for all the posts under SSC CHSL as follows:

  • Minimum Age – 18 years (as on August 1, 2019)
  • Maximum Age – 27 years ( as on August 1, 2019)

SSC CHSL 2019 Salary

The candidates willing to apply for CHSL posts are eligible to receive a salary under various pay-scales according to the posts, as given below:

SSC CHSL 2019 Selection Procedure/ Exam Pattern

The SSC CHSL 2019  Examination will be held in three phases, having different pattern in each of these. The examinations in all the three phases or ‘tiers’  will be online. The candidates will have to qualify in the Tier I of the SSC CHSL Exam to reach to the next Tier II. To be shortlisted for Tier III, the  marks obtained in Tier I + Tier II Examinations will be considered. Tier III of SSC CHSL Exam will be of qualifying nature. On the basis of the candidates’ performance in in Tier I , II & III , the final selection will be made and the candidates will be allocated the jobs in various departments/ministries.

The structure of SSC CHSL Exam is as follows:

  • Tier I – Objective Type
  • Tier II – Descriptive Type
  • Tier IIISkill Test / Typing Test

The ‘exam patterns’ for all the three tiers of SSC CHSL in detail are given below:

SSC CHSL 2019 Tier -I Exam Pattern (Objective Type)

The Tier I of SSC CHSL Examination is held in online mode and consists of objective type questions or MCQs where you will have to choose an answer from the options given.

  • Tier I of SSC CHSL Exam will contain a negative marking of 0.50 marks on every incorrect answer.
  • The Visually Handicapped candidates will be provided with 80 minutes.
  • The cut-off and  merit list will be released by SSC after normalizing the scores obtained by the candidates.

SSC CHSL 2019 Tier -II Exam Pattern

The Tier II of SSC CHSL Examination will be in descriptive mode and will be conducted offline. The candidates will be required to write down an Essay / Letter / Application / Precis.

SSC CHSL Tier-III Exam Pattern

SSC CHSL Tier III Examination is a skill test / data entry test, where the candidates’ typing skills are tested. The speed limit is specified by SSC:

Skill Test for DEO:

  • Data Entry Speed – 8,000 key depressions per hour;
  • Duration – 15 minutes.

Skill Test for DEO in Comptroller & Auditor General Office:

  • Data Entry Speed – 15,000 key depressions per hour;
  • Duration – 15 minutes.

Typing Test for LDC / JSA and Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant

  • The candidates will be able to choose the medium of typing test in the online application form.
  • English Medium Typing Speed : 10,500 key depressions per hour; 35 words per minute.
  • Hindi Medium Typing Speed : 9000 key depressions ; 30 words per minute.

SSC CHSL 2019 Application Fees

The application process for SSC CHSL will be completed only after you make the payment of fees. The payment of application fees can be done in both online and offline mode (Through Challan).
