RBI Grade B DEPR 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for any competitive exam, it is essential to understand the eligibility criteria of the post that you are applying for.

Given below is the RBI DEPR 2022 eligibility criteria

Nationality A candidate must be- 

A citizen of India
A subject of Nepal
A subject of Bhutan
A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 01, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Educational QualificationsEssential:

A Master’s Degree in Economics (or any other master’s degree where
“Economics” is the principal constituent of the curriculum/syllabus, namely MA / MSc in Quantitative Economics, Mathematical Economics, Financial Economics, Business Economics, Agricultural Economics, Industrial Economics) OR

A Master’s Degree in Finance (or any other master’s degree where
“Finance” is the principal constituent of the curriculum / syllabus, namely MA/ MSc in Quantitative Finance, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Techniques, International Finance, Business Finance, Banking and Trade Finance, International and Trade Finance, Project and Infrastructure Finance, Agri Business Finance) OR

PGDM / MBA with specialisation in Economics / Finance.

Note-

1. A minimum 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years from a recognised Indian or foreign University / Institute.

2. “Principal constituent” with respect to syllabus / curriculum means half or more of the total courses / electives / credits must be in Economics or Finance.

3. “Specialisation” in Economics / Finance means a third or more of the total courses / electives / credits in the second year must be in Economics /Finance.

Desirable:

A Doctorate Degree in Economics, or research or teaching experience in economics, or publication in the field/area of Economics in standard journals.
Age Minimum- 21 years
Maximum- 30 years

Age Relaxation

Like every government exam, RBI also provides relaxation in the upper age limit for the candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Given below is the age relaxation criteria for reserved categories-

Ex-employees of banking institutions whose services had to be terminated for reasons of economy or because of bank going into liquidation and personnel retrenched from Government Offices after at least one year’s service and currently registered with Employment Exchange5 years
Candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu and Kashmir between January 01, 1980 and December 31, 1989.5 years
Emergency commissioned officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers who have completed their initial period of assignment of five years of Military service but whose assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues certificates that they would be released on selection within three months from the date of receipt of offer of appointment.

Note- The age concession will not be admissible to those Ex-servicemen who are released on their own request.

Ex-servicemen (including Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers) provided applicants have rendered at least five years of continuous Military Service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability or have been released on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service or on invalidment.

Note- The age concession will not be admissible to those Ex-servicemen who are released on their own request.

As per its guidelines, RBI has exempted certain categories from number of attempts whereas restrictions have been imposed on others. Therefore, before you apply for the RBI Grade B exam 2022, it is imperative that you know about the exemptions and restrictions.
