In the continuity of the Test yourself series, today’s topic is the Seating Arrangement from the Logical Reasoning section. We have given below 2 sets (10 questions) of seating arrangement (Moderate level) which are required to be solved under 10 to 15 minutes. 1 –5: Directions: Study the following information very carefully and answer the questions that are given below-

The one who likes ice cream faces south direction and the one who likes chocolates faces north. A certain number of persons sit in a row adjacent to each other. Some of them like different ice creams and others like different chocolates.

Six persons sit between the one who likes vanilla ice cream and the one who likes strawberry ice-cream. The one who likes dark chocolate sits third to the left of the one who likes strawberry ice cream. Two persons sit between the one who likes dark chocolate and the one who likes milk chocolate, who is not a neighbour of the one who likes vanilla ice cream. Only one person sits to the right of the one who likes milk chocolate. No one sits to the right of the one who likes vanilla ice cream. The one who likes mango ice cream sits on the third left of the one who likes vanilla ice cream.

There are certain number of persons sitting in a row some are facing north and some are facing south direction.

Two persons sit between Kanika and Raghav who faces north. Kanika is sitting in the exact middle of the row. Jitesh is sitting third from the left end of the row and faces south.  Suman is on the eight right of Kanika and faces the opposite direction of Kanika. Soni is sitting exactly between Suman and Kanika and she faces south. Soni is not an immediate neighbour of Raghav. There are more than 7 persons but less than 9 persons to the left of Kanika. Jitesh and Raghav are not the immediate neighbours of each other. Tara is on the extreme right end and she faces the same direction as of Suman.

Only one person sits to the right of the one who likes milk chocolate. No one sits to the right of the one who likes vanilla ice cream. It means that the one who likes milk chocolate sits at the second from the right end of the row.

Six persons sit between the one who likes vanilla ice cream and the one who likes strawberry ice-cream. The one who likes dark chocolate sits third to the left of the one who likes strawberry ice cream. Two persons sit between the one who likes dark chocolate and the one who likes milk chocolate, who is not a neighbour of the one who likes vanilla ice cream.

Thus the final arrangement is as follows-

We will start with the given information, Kanika is sitting in the exact middle of the row. Two persons sit between Kanika and Raghav who faces north.  Suman is on the eight right of Kanika and faces the opposite direction of Kanika. For this four cases will be formed –

Soni is sitting exactly between Suman and Kanika and she faces south. Soni is not an immediate neighbour of Raghav. Case 1 and 2.a will get rejected as Soni is an immediate neighbour of Raghav.

There are more than 7 persons but less than 9 persons to the left of Kanika. Tara is on the extreme right end and she faces the same direction as of Suman.  Thus the final arrangement is as follows-
