Odisha Foundation Day
Odisha became a separate state on April 1, 1936. Therefore, the anniversary of this occasion is celebrated every year on April 1. It was separated from Bihar and Bengal and became a new state. The capital of Odisha is Bhubaneshwar.

B.R. Ambedkar Remembrance Day
This day marks the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar who was born on April 14, 1981. Ambedkar was a polymath, politician and social activist. This day is also known as Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti.
The Mahavir Jayanti is an important festival for the followers of Jainism. This day marks the birth anniversary of the 24th and last tirthankara, Vardhamana Mahavira. This year, the day fell on April 14.
Holy or Sacred Friday, also known as Good Friday marks the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Good Friday is followed 2 days later by Easter, i.e., April 17.
