The SBI PO Prelims exam 2022 is supposed to be held on 17th/18th /19th/20th of December 2022. This year the recruitment is for a total of 1673 vacancies. The SBI PO Exam 2022 is considered as one of the prestigious banking exams.

Phase 1

The Preliminary Examination consisting of an Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online. The test will have 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows.

The Quant section was moderate overall. Among the 3 Data Interpretation questions, 1 was a bit calculative & 2 were on the easier side. The level of questions in Quadratic Equations & Simplification was easy. In the arithmetic section, 1 or 2 questions were asked from Average(2), Profit & Loss(1), Simple Interest(2), Partnership(1), Time & Work(1), and Percentage(1).

The Reasoning section was long as usual, and you needed to solve the questions quickly. Among the 4 puzzles asked, 1 was a bit lengthy. No Questions were asked from Syllogism. The overall difficulty of the reasoning section was moderate.

English was the easiest section in the exam. Questions asked from all the topics were on the easier side. Thus it was necessary to attempt a maximum number of questions from this section.

Thus, no different types of questions were asked. The question types largely remained the same as compared to the previous years.

Good Attempts & Previous Year Cut-offs

The overall exam difficulty was moderate. Hence, a good attempt could be anywhere around 65 to 68 questions with good accuracy.

English 22 +

The Previous Year Cut-offs for last 2 years have been 58.5 & 63 respectively for General Category students. Thus, the cut-off will be around the range of 60 to 65 for this year as well. If you’re scoring somewhere around this mark, then you should start preparing for the Mains exam right away.

What Next?

If your attempt is around 63 to 68 with good accuracy then you must start preparing for the Mains.

Main Examination will be conducted online and will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and a Descriptive Test for 50 marks. The Descriptive Test will be held immediately after the Objective Test and candidates will have to type their Descriptive Test answers on the computer.

As you can see Test I, II & IV is similar to the ones in the Prelims exam. Hence, for these sections, you should practice more questions of higher difficulty. Because in Mains the level of questions is difficult for all the sections.

It is important that you cover current affairs of at least last 6 months before appearing for the Mains exam.
