July 2	World UFO Day	The Day was founded by Turkish UFO hunter Haktan Akdoğan and was celebrated for the first time in 2001. The central aim behind celebrating this day is to create awareness about Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and alien lifeforms.
July 3	International Plastic Bag Free Day	To raise awareness about the dangers of using plastic products, particularly plastic bags to our planet. The day is also dedicated to finding other biodegradable alternatives for plastic bags.
July 4	Independence Day in United States of America	Popularly also referred to as the 4^th of July, it is a federal holiday in the United States marking the anniversary of the day and date on which the Declaration of Independence of the United States was signed in 1776.
July 6	World Zoonoses Day	The day has been in observance since 1885. It is dedicated to raising awareness about Zoonotic diseases like Ebola, West Nile Virus and such that are transferred from animals and insects to human beings.
July 11	World Population Day	World Population Day is observed annually on 11 July to bring attention to the rising population, particularly in developing countries such as India and the urgency to control the same. The day raises awareness about the importance of family planning, use of contraceptives and sex for pleasure (and not only for reproduction).
July 12	Paper Bag Day	The World Paper Bag Day, simply, Paper Bag Day is celebrated all over the world to reassert the importance of using paper bags as a biodegradable means of carrying our things. Sturdy paper bags are a particularly good alternative to plastic bags.
July 12	Malala day	Malala Day is observed in honour of Pakistani activist, Malala Yousafzi who was shot by the Taliban because she refused to give up her education. This day is celebrated to honour Malala’s courage in fighting religious fanatics, her work towards the education of women and the other milestones she has achieved since.
July 14	Bastille Day	The day marks the storming of the Palace of Bastille on July 14, 1789. On this day the French revolutionaries stormed the castle thereby marking the beginning of the French Revolution which ultimately ended with the overthrow of the monarchy in France.
July 15	World Youth Skills Day	This day is celebrated on July 15 internationally to reinstate the importance of technical and vocational education alongside formal education for the youth. The ultimate idea is to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship among the young generation.
July 17	Day of International Criminal Justice	Only July 17, the World Day for International Justice is observed that acknowledges the emerging international system of criminal justice. Also known as International Justice Day, the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court was adopted on this day in 1998.
July 18	Nelson Mandela International Day	Nelson Mandela was born on July 18, 1918 in South Africa. The day has been marked in his honour to acknowledge his work toward eradicating racisms, apartheid and injustice and to celebrate his work toward freedom and peace. He is by far one of the most illustrious leaders of the 21^st century.
July 20	World Chess Day	The Federation International des Eches or FIDE was founded on this day in Paris on July 20, 1924.
July 23	National Broadcasting Day	India’s first ever radio broadcast went on air on July 23, 1927 from the Bombay Station.
July 24	Income Tax Day	Income Tax was first levied by Sir James Wilson in colonial India on this day in 1860. In 2010, the Government of India began observing July 10 as Income Tax Day.
July 24	Guru Purnima	On this day, we pay respect to our teachers, or gurus. It corresponds with the full moon day in the month of Ashada according to the Vedic calendar. This year, the day fell on July 24.
July 25	Parents’ Day	Parents’ Day or National Parents Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday in July every year. This year, the day fell on July 25. The day is dedicated to all parents and their indispensable contribution in shaping our lives, their love and the immeasurable sacrifices they make for us.
July 26	Kargil Vijay Diwas	On July 26, 1999, the Indian Army successfully expelled the Pakistani forces from their occupation of the Northern Kargil District in Ladakh. The day is dedicated to our heroes who participated in Operation Vijay.
July 28	World Hepatitis Day	Hepatitis Day is observed every year to laud the efforts made by the medical communities all over the world to fight the various strains of Hepatitis. It is also a day to create awareness about the disease and its cure(s).
July 29	International Tiger Day	The day is observed to create awareness about the fast-dwindling population of tigers all over the world. The day was marked for the first time at the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit in 2010.
July 31	World Ranger Day	This is a UNESCO-mandated holiday to celebrate the work rangers do to protect our natural environment. The day is particularly dedicated to those heroes who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
