FICCI is the industry partner of the Government of India for its participation in Expo-2020 Dubai.
The first World Expo was London’s Great Exhibition of 1851, are organized every five years and last for six months.
Milan hosted the last Expo, in 2015 with the theme ‘Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life’.
3rd High-Level Global Conference on Road Safety-Stockholm, Sweden
High-Level Global Conference was organized by the Government of Sweden in collaboration with WHO, World Bank along with other agencies
It was a two-day conference with an objective to bring road safety on the global agenda and To renew the world community’s commitment to safer roads.
At the 3rd High-Level Global Conference, Road Transport and Highways Minister Mr. Nitin Gadkari represented Indian views.
Sustainable Development Goals Conclave 2020
The Sustainable Development Goals conclave 2020 was organised by the following
- The North Eastern Council, Assam government
- Tata Trusts
- United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
- Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS).
The conclave was organised under the umbrella theme of Government of India, “Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat” (One India, Great India) plans to achieve inclusive development focusing on thematic areas viz. economic growth, connectivity, social & human development, which are aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Conclave has been attended by all Chief Ministers of North Eastern states along with academia, civil society, and international development organizations. The conclave was held from February 24-26, 2020.
The North Eastern Council (NEC) was founded under the North-Eastern Council Act of 1971.
The member states of the NEC consist of Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Tripura Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim.
