List of the Union Territories in India

The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act of 2019 designated October 31, 2019, as the historic day for creating two Union Territories: Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. This unprecedented move marked the first instance of a state being divided into two Union Territories.
