Question
Rohit and Mohit began a job together, but after 10 days
Rohit left the task. Mohit finished the rest of the job alone in 8 days. Rohit is 40% less efficient than Mohit. If they earned Rs. 3600 for completing the work, find Mohit’s share.Solution
ATQ,
Let the efficiency of Mohit be 5x units/day
So, efficiency of Rohit = 5x × (60/100) = 3x units/day
Work done in first 10 days = 10 × (3x + 5x) = 80x units
Work done by Mohit in 8 days = 8 × 5x = 40x units
Total work = 80x + 40x = 120x units
Work done by Mohit = 10 × 5x + 8 × 5x = 90x units
So, Mohit's share = (3600 / 120x) × 90x = Rs. 2700
