Quantity of wine in the mixture = 45 × 2/5 = 18 litres Quantity of water in the mixture = 45 × 3/5 = 27 litres Let x liters water be added to the mixture then, 18/(27+ x) = 1/3 54 = 27 + x x = 54 - 27 = 27 litres
