    If 120 ml of this mixture is removed and then 312 ml of water is added to the remaining mixture, the final water content becomes 150% more than the honey content. Determine the initial volume of the mixture.

    ATQ, Let amount of honey and water in the original mixture is 8x ml and 7x ml respectively. Amount of honey in 120 ml of mixture = 8/15 × 120 = 64 ml Amount of water in 120 ml of mixture = 120 – 64 = 56 ml According to question; (7x – 56 + 312) = 2.5 × (8x – 64) Or, 7x + 256 = 20x – 160 Or, 13x = 416 Or, x = 32 Original quantity of mixture = 15x = 15 × 32 = 480 ml
