      Question

If the sum of 60% of a fractional number and the

number's square root is 5 greater than one fifth of the number, then the number is
A 6.25 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 0.25 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 121.25 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 2.25 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      ATQ Let the number be x  According to the question, (60/100) × x + √x = 1x/5 + 5  = 0.6x + √x = 0.2x + 5 = √x = 5 - 0.4x Squaring both the sides = x = 25 + 0.16x2 - 4x = 0.16x2 - 5x + 25 = 0  = x = 6.25 and 25  As, number is fraction hence required answer will be 6.25.
