Ajay completes half the work done by Rohit in 5/6 of the
time. If they together finish the work in 18 days, how much time will Rohit take to complete the work?Solution
Let time taken by Rohit to complete the work = t days
Ajay takes 2 × (5t/6) = 10t/6 = 5t/3 days.
Efficiency of Rohit = 1/t,
Efficiency of Ajay = 3/5t.
Total efficiency = 1/t + 3/5t = 1/18
Solving for t , we get t = 28.8 days .
