Question
Priya completes 30% of a task in 9 days. Her efficiency is
50% greater than Meera's. How many days will it take for both Priya and Meera, working together, to finish the entire task?Solution
ATQ,
Priya alone can complete the full task in (9/0.3) = 30 days.
Efficiency of Priya = 1.5× efficiency of Meera.
So, Meera alone can complete the work in (30×1.5) = 45 days.
Let the total work be 90 units
(LCM of 30 and 45)
(LCM of 30 and 45).
Efficiency of Priya = 90/30 = 3 units/day
Efficiency of Meera = 90/45 = 2 units/day
Together, their efficiency = (3+2) = 5 units/day.
Total time required = 90/5 = 18 days.
