    Solution

    Time taken by A to complete the whole work = 32/0.40 = 80 days
    Let total work = 160 units
    Amount of work done by A and B together in one day = 160/32 = 5 units
    Amount of work done by A alone in one day = 160/80 = 2 units
    Amount of work done by B in one day = 5 – 2 = 3 units
    Desired time = 0.60 × 160/3 = 32 days
