If the student scores 25% marks then he is failed by 210 marks. But if he scores 55% marks then he is passed by 240 marks. Find the passing percentage?
Solution
Let the maximum marks be x. According to the question x × 25/100 + 210 = x × 55/100 - 240 30x/100 = 450 x = 1500 Passing Marks = 1500 × 25/100+ 210 = 585 Passing % = 585/1500 ×100 = 39%
