Question
From Rs. 16,500, a boy gave 15% to a library fund, 10%
of the remaining amount to a sports club, and 20% of the next remaining to his college fund. What amount does he have left?Solution
ATQ,
Amount given to library fund = 0.15 × 16500 = Rs. 2,475
Remaining amount = 16500 – 2475 = Rs. 14,025
Amount given to sports club = 0.10 × 14025 = Rs. 1,402.50
Remaining amount = 14025 – 1402.50 = Rs. 12,622.50
Amount given to college fund = 0.20 × 12622.50 = Rs. 2,524.50
Amount left with the boy = 12622.50 – 2524.50 = Rs. 10,098
