Question
A man, a woman and a girl can together complete a piece
of work in 60 days. If 10 men can do it in 16 days and 8 girls can finish it in 30 days, how long will 4 women take to complete the work? ÂSolution
( 1 Man + 1 woman + 1 girl)’s 1day’s work = 1/60 1 man’s 1 day work = 1/(10*16)= 1/160 1 girl’s 1 day’s work = 1/(8*30)= 1/240 ∴  1 woman’s 1 day’s work = 1/60 – 1/160 - 1/240= 1/160 Therefore, 4 woman alone can finish the work in 160/4= 40 days.
