each of the 100 soldiers present at the camp eat 3 times a day. After 20 days, 50 soldiers left the camp and remaining ate only twice a day. For how many days (from start) will the food last?Solution
Let the eating capacity of each soldier be 'x' units So, total food at the camp = (30 X 100 X 3 X x) = '9000x' units And food remaining after 20 days = 9000x - (20 X 100 X 3 X x) = '3000x' units So, required time = 3000x ÷ (x X 2 X 50) = 30 days So, the food will last for a total of 30 + 20 = 50 days
