Solution
Let the efficiency of a man be 'x' units/day. Let number of extra men needed to finish the work be 'y'. ATQ; Total work = (20 + y) Γ x Γ 10 Γ 8 = 20 Γ x Γ 12 Γ 7 Or, 20 + y = 21 So, y = 21 β 20 = 1 Therefore, the number of extra men required = y = 1
