Question
Virat can do a piece of work in 20 days and Sachin can
do the same work in 30 days. If Virat works for 4 days and got Rs. 2400, and the remaining work will completed by Sachin, then how much rupee Sachin earned?Solution
Assume total work = LCM (20, 30) = 60 If the entire work is 60 units, Virat can complete 3 unit per day, and Sachin can complete 2 unit per days In 4 days, Virat completes 12 units and got Rs.2400 i.e. Rs.200 per unit. Remaining work = (60 – 12)unit = 48 unit ∴ Sachin earning = Rs.48 × 200 = Rs. 9600
